More mature songwriting yet still trademark HN sound | Posted September-25-2009
Hawk Nelson has certainly come a long way since their 2004 debut album. I was surprised when I first heard that they were coming out with a new album so quickly after last year's Hawk Nelson Is My Friend. But I have to say, this is a great album. Not their best work but it's a strong candidate for second best. The band really has matured in their songwriting ability especially on the last third of the album. The sound of this one is the same as the previous 3 albums but that only adds to how much better they have gotten. I also think that the people who think up the packaging of Hawk Nelson's albums should really be shopped around to other Christian artists. Last album we got a board game, this album we get a booklet that is printed in 3D with 3D glasses added in for no extra cost. This is probably the most original idea for packaging I have seen this year and it probably will stay that way. Signature HN sound mixed with a new maturity make this album a great buy.

On Par With Wake Up! Wake Up! | Posted June-30-2009
Everyone knows that when band's release their breakout album it would be a tough act to release something better than that. That would be the case for this new release from Everyday Sunday. I wasn't expecting anything better from these guys and that is probably why I enjoyed this album a lot. The only difference compared from this album and their last is that the guitars are more aggresive sounding and I like that a lot. Trey Pearson's lyrics are always spot on. People who have heard Wake Up! Wake Up! and have that album in mind as they listen to this one will probably be disappointed but if you have heard Wake Up! Wake Up! and think about the aftermath of a breakout success will probably enjoy this album wholeheartedly as I did. Also, to people who haven't heard this band I would recommend picking this album up as it has a bunch of great songs that will surely get stuck in your head and will never leave.

Worth Every Penny | Posted June-30-2009
It's fun, it's catchy, it's well produced and it is worth your money. My only complaint is that the album is too short but that's okay with me. I can probably compare Fireflight's sound with that of Skillet's 2003 album Collide except that in the Fireflight album the guitars are toned down a bit so as you can hear the singer's voice.

Generic but Still a Good Time | Posted June-30-2009
The Classic Crime made a big impression when their debut album released. I really enjoyed this album a lot. The hooks were catchy and the songs were well written. The only complaint I have is about the last song on the album. It just felt out of place to me but besides that, this album is well worth it.

My New Favorite Punk Band Ever | Posted June-30-2009
The debut album from these guys is just incredible. Every song on it is well written and very well thought of music wise. It's original. I can probably compare these guys to Rise Against because much of Children 18:3's sound is harsh punk just like Rise Against. I would recommend this album to anyone who is looking for something different musical wise.

It's Like Metallica... | Posted June-17-2009
... Except the lead "singer" growls more than he actually sings. Aside from that this album is actually pretty enjoyable. If you enjoyed The Showdown's previous album, "Tempation Come My Way" than right away you will be turned off by this record. This one is more aggressive and in-your-face. The guitars are harsher and the rest of the band are right there as well, delivering 45 minutes of face-melting, nostalgic metal with a distinct southern feel.

This Album Will Make You Feel Good Inside | Posted June-17-2009
Stellar Kart hits another one out of the park with their 3rd album. Their signature sound is still present but they experiment well with other sounds on this album as well. From very simple pop-punk to Van Halen like synths, this album will leave you feeling great inside.

48 Minutes of Quality Rock | Posted May-26-2009
From the first hard riff of the first track, this album grabs you by the throat and doesn't let go. Full of amazing crunching guitar parts, this album is a definite buy for fans of Skillet or hard rock fans in general.

A Monumental Acheivement In Music. | Posted May-26-2009
This is probably one of the best albums I have ever heard in my life. All 15 songs are special in it's own way and they do manage to resonate with you after listening. There are some songs on here that will definably have radio single written all over them. The songwriting is top notch, the production is spot on, and the riffs are memorable. This is one album that no one should pass up.
