A Solid Techno Rock Album | Posted May-26-2009
This album is probably one of the best surprises of the year so far. These guys used to be a metalcore band but have switched it up to the techno rock style and wow is it good. Full of techno goodies this album is pretty much just one big 40 minute dance party. The only small complaint I have with this album is that the lead singer's voice is kind of a little high pitched (but it works) and his voice seems more suited to the metalcore that they used to do. Overall, a most excellent debut for this band and I hope that they put out more amazing stuff like this on future releases.

A concept album that actually has a story that is understandable? | Posted April-29-2009
That can't be right. But it is. After another 3 year wait TFK side project FM Static have put out an album that so makes up for the hit and miss Critically Ashamed. Going back to their punk roots, FM Static manages to make 9 out of the 10 songs real gems. The only song I didn't like is Her Father's Song music wise. (The lyrics are great though.) This is an album that you HAVE to actually get in an actual store. Getting it online is only half the story. The story follows a teenager who moves to a new town and gets caught up in life. He meets a girl and learns something about himself as well. The lyric booklet has no lyrics but it does have diary entries written by the main character that help explain a bit of what the next track is all about. Full of awesome punk rock moments and a good acoustic set, this is one album that you absolutely have to buy from a store.

Captiva Part 2 | Posted April-29-2009
Falling Up has taken there sound to a whole different place in the 5 years since Crashings. This one called Fangs really should be in a genre of it's own. Fangs is the 1st part of a screenplay that was written by lead singer Jessy Ribordy which is soon going to be turned into either a book or a movie. The album is a summerization of the first 5 chapters of the book. It sounds like an interesting story except for the fact that I can't decipher the actual story from the wonderful poetic lyrics. The music is amazing. The band really strived to make this the most beautiful album they could have ever put out and in my mind, they succeeded.

Audio Adrenaline are the ultimate Underdog's | Posted April-29-2009
What a great way to end a decade. 1999's Underdog is probably one of the most recognizable Audio Adrenaline album's and I can now say that I know why. Every song on this album is special and well put together. The most zany song on this album has to be the last one called The Houseplant Song. Words cannot describe how wonderfully weird this song is. But I love it.

Excellent | Posted April-29-2009
This album really made me like Audio Adrenaline even more than I already did. Full of great guitars, amazing lyrics and also has a bit of a nostalgic feel to it. My only complaint is the track Jazz Odyssey. It just feels out of place. Other than that, this album is amazing.

An Interesting Look At the Struggle Between Good and Evil. | Posted February-21-2009
Red is one of those bands that have come up with a fresh way to make string orchestra's cool by blending with with hard hitting guitars, loud drums, and a guy screaming lyrics into your ears. 3 years ago Red came out with End of Silence which is probably one of the most epic albums I have ever heard. Now in 2009, Red has given us the sequel. It's not as epic as End of Silence was but it was still good to listen too. They have turned the guitars louder, (cranked it up to 11. Hey, I couldn't resist.) have made sure that the string orchestra comes in at the right moment, and have crafted an album that talks about the struggle within our souls between good and evil. It's interesting that on the 10 tracks some of them are talking about how evil is good while on other tracks they talk about how good is... good. I really liked their cover of the Duran Duran song Ordinary World. All in all, it's a very well crafted album and I recommend it to anyone who is a fan of this band or a heavy rocker fan.

On a side note, inside the lyrics book there is a website composed of numbers. It's the first of many websites that Red created as part of an ARG that is marketing this album. They have taken most of the elements from the poem The Devine Comedy where Dante tours Hell, Purgatory, and Heaven, and have created a similar journey that ends with some special goodies. It's something worth checking out.

Amazing!!! | Posted February-07-2009
I am amazed as I was watching the DVD version of this concert that Toby is around 40 years old, yet he has the energy of a 20 year old. With that out of the way, I am pleased to say that this live release is amazing. The CD version is good. Had decent sound but the real star of the show is the DVD. It captures the live energy perfectly. The DVD also comes with a 1-hour behind the scenes documentary where Toby talks about what he and his band do backstage and he also introduces each member of his band and also tells us how they ended up being in the band. This is one live combo that nobody should miss.

Great | Posted January-20-2009
This album has a sort of dark quality to it. From the lyrics, though dark at some points but uplifting in other parts, through to the rockin' guitars, this album is a great effort from a band that will certainly have a great future down the road.

This is an epic album | Posted January-07-2009
From the first screaming vocals of the first song to the epic finale of the last song, this new album blew me away in ways that I never expected. The lyrics are more solid and spiritually driven. If you liked Define the Great Line than this new album is defiantly for you.

Wowee!! | Posted December-27-2008
This is one amazing debut from these guys. All of the songs here are full of vigorous energy and the lyrics actually have meaning. This is the album where you can experiance the old-school Sanctus Real sound. A few classic songs are found on this album like "Say It Loud," and "Nothing to Hide." This is one album that nobody should pass up.
