this cd is amazing! I love crankin it up really loud, puttin the windows down, turning the heat on high, and dancin to it with my friends in my car! lol. It's so upbeat and gets you goin. There are a few songs I don't really like but the songs I do overpower those. I love their whisper singing...and how fast the one guy can sing. I love these boys! I think they were homeschooled to...YEAH for homeschoolers!

This book was boring. I had a very hard time getting into it...and the movie is even worse. I am the kind that loves romance but that...for some reason it did not catch my eye in the slightest

Totally interesting and very well written. He amazes me with how intelligent he really is. I really enjoyed reading this book and seeing how it all unfolded. And the lesson learned from it was good as well.

don't blink | Posted October-04-2007
I liked this cd. Not something that I'd have in my stereo in the middle of the day...but I did like it in it's own quiet way. I like the other plumb music as well. Blink actually made me tired. Seriously I think I'm gonna go lay down now. My favorite was the song that had the violins in the beginning but I don't know what it's called. So yeah, good cd...not necessarily recommended for those around my age though. It's good for a new mother.
Oh and I think the whole "blinking" thing is catching on. Kenny Chesney just wrote a song called "Don't Blink" now that is a good one!

Thought-provoking. Entergetic. Crazy. | Posted October-03-2007
This is one of the few cds in my collection that I really enjoy. Their energy and vocals...gotta love it!
It starts out with "More than a Revolution" which is basically saying that the world needs a "big explosion" to wake them up because they are leaning to heavily on all their false solutions. This is the first song I heard by this band and I instantly fell in love with it.
This band talks sense when it comes to romance. "I told myself my heart would just get in the way. It's never good to let emotions have their say." and "teenage heartbreak...doesn't really last that long. Broken hearts heal then the pain is gone." and "God wants more for the life you lead and everything you share. Guys and girls may break your heart but he'll always be there" are just some lines that let us know that we are still teenagers with raging hormones(at least I am) and sometimes we just gotta let it go and God will take care of us. He's got our lives all figured out. "The Unicorn Revolt" is more of a break-up song, but it's not a harsh one. It's not one of those "I hate you! You ruined my life" kinda deals...it's more saying "I feel God calling us to different paths in life" But they are definitly not condemning romance as shown by their two really cute love songs. "Nostalgatopia" and "Anti-Adeiu" My favorite out of the two is definitly "Anti-Adieu" So cute!
In their song "Myspace" they speak some truth. That has been followed up by Brad Paisleys "Online". Both guys are saying that often the internet is used as a cover-up for who you really are. They are making fun of this abuse.
In "Odds and Even so's" they address the Christians living in a world of pain and depression. They tell the story of a girl who's alone and is planning to take her own life. They are urging Christians to take a stand and befriend these people. In the song they ask this tough question "what good is God doing you if He is only faith?" If he just sits in a box in the corner of your closet whats the point of calling Him friend. Most of us don't shove those we call friends in a corner and leave them there.
The last song on this cd is the one that reaches my heart the most. "Reach that Far" is it's name. It is a plea for God's forgiveness after sinning. When we feel so dirty and unworthy that we find it hard to kneel before God. This song has encouraged me several times throughout my life.
Overall amazing cd. Often encouraging, entergetic, and thought provoking. These boys have got the brains when it comes to song writing.
And Matt Langston's vocals are so differently awesome!

I'm sorry but I think that was the most boring cd I've ever heard. Often I couldn't tell when one song ended and the other began. They all sounded the same. The only song I like by Falling Up is "Searchlights" if they had anymore songs like that maybe I'd like them...but I really don't like their new cd...

I don't really care very much for this cd. Their music is totally not my style. When I do listen to it I only listen to "What If His People Prayed" and "American Dream". I do like the celtic musical peice in "Praise You With the Dance" but otherwise this cd sits in my case and is pulled out like once every 2 years.

The need for love and the way God fulfills it | Posted September-05-2007
This cd speaks most often about our need for love, in particular, God's love and how he fulfills this need when we are sold out to Him. This album opens with the song "Grey" which speaks about being lukewarm in your faith for God and about the determination to change that blah lifestyle. In my personal opinion, the next song "Let Go" is rather annoying. It has never caught my attention because its so noisy and raspy. But the lyrics are talking about letting go of what we hold onto and falling back on God. "I need you to love me"...I love that song. More than anything else in the world we need God's love...His love alone would help us survive. The good news is he doesn't normally ask us to live alone and he supplies some sort of companion for us, but that's a whole 'nother story. "Enough" is a song that i have always enjoyed singing in church and they have put it together very well and its very enjoyable to listen to, esp. when ur in the mood to sing to God. "Porcelain Heart" is a song that any girl with a broken heart can relate to, esp those who have been used and abused. This song does not necessarily have to do with guy/girl relationships, it could also be speaking about a girls relationship with parents or any dissapointment in her life. It really speaks to the fragile heart of a girl...and a guy if you are one of those guys that have a fragile heart as well...and there is nothing wrong with that! "Take me Away" is totally obnoxious and I don't even listen to it. "Psalm 73" is pretty good...I listen to it when I need to know that God is good enough for me...and He'll provide me with all my needs. "5 minutes of Fame" I like that one...it's talking about not selling out for fame that won't last. To stand by your God will bring a much greater reward. "Thoughts of You"...that one is a little to slow for me. Good lyrics but it would put me to sleep and I'm not often in the mood to go to bed. lol. "No one Like You" is a crazy "praise and worship" song that I can really get into. The music is upbeat and the lyrics are nothing but praising God as the one and only God. At the end there is and acoustic version of "Never Alone" it's a nice version but I think it's lacking that passion of the first version.

The Best One | Posted August-19-2007
I think that this has been Barlow Girls best cd. I love the lyrics in the songs such as "Harder than the First Time" and "She walked away" They are all about standing for God and falling back on Him in the song "On My Own" I can really feel that song because I have been there. They forcefully put forth their stand on dating and modesty in "Average Girl" in "Clothes" and these songs really do make you think. As for the song "Pedestal" I think we've all been there at one point where we have put someone so high up there only to be crushed when they fail to fulfill what we thought they were. "Never alone" is an awesome song that can be incredibly powerful when you really listen to it because we are truly never alone. Even when we don't feel God he's there. The tune of that song also draws you in. But I think my absolute favorite song on this cd is the slowest one, which is odd for me. I love the song "Surrender" It has been a big struggle for me to give up and say goodbye to the things that I love most and I fear that God will take is so I cling to it for dear life, but listening to that song inspires me to follow Gods way and not my own and to hand it over to him for the benefit of myself. All in all, I really enjoy this cd.

Apologetix as always has very cleverly found Godly lyrics that fit perfectly into the tune of the original song. There are only a few songs that I really enjoy on this cd. I find some of the lyrics to be rather cheesy such as "Elijah" (parody to Elvira by The Oak Ridge Boys) "Sin can be Resistable" (parody to Simply Irresistable by Robert Palmer) "Trooth" (parody to Smooth by Santana) and "Genny 22" (parody to 867-5309/Jenny by Tommy Tutone). Some of the other songs are just not my style at all, so I just don't enjoy the songs. But others such as "Pray Now(Lost Art)" (parody to All Star by Smashmouth) "Choirboy" (parody to Cowboy by Kid Rock) and "I Love Apostle Paul" (parody to I Love Rock and Roll by Joan Jett & The Blackhearts) are good substitutes for the secular versions of these songs that I really enjoy. The two songs that mean the most to me lyrically on this cd are "I want in that place" a parody of "I want it that way" by the Backstreet Boys and "Every Crown has its Thorns" which is a parody to "Every Rose has it's Thorn" by Poison. Apologetix is such a wide variety of sounds that me and my parents can enjoy their cds together, and believe me, my parents and I do not often enjoy the same kind of music. Granted we don't agree on all the songs because there is a generation gap of styles but there are many songs that we do enjoy together.
