My Favorite Album Ever! | Posted September-12-2007
If you've read my profile and seen my profile picture, clearly I'm a HUGE fan of Shaun Groves. I post as shaunfan on his website and blog shaungroves.com. This is my favorite album ever, hands down. "Here I Am" is my favorite song ever and my most played song (just about everyday) and the concept of this album is stunning. From the opening riff of "See You" right through the live worship set of 4 of Shaun's best songs, this is a true personal worship experience. My other favorite songs are "Need You More", "Jesus" and "Twilight". Pick up this album and become a fellow "shaun fan" like me.

Landmark Debut Album! | Posted September-12-2007
Shaun had me at "Welcome Home", which is one of my all-time favorite songs and one of 7 hit songs off his amazing debut album. The songwriting was so fresh and personal, it garnered Shaun Dove Award nominations in 2002 for songwriter of the year, best new artist, and song of the year "Welcome Home". Think Aaron Shust 5 years ago. Anyway, 5 years later this album is still in heavy rotation for me and "Damage Done", "Should I Tell Them", "Move Me", "Your Renown" and "After The Music Fades" were all radio hits. You can't go wrong with Shaun Groves.

Great concept album, top 10 of 2006! | Posted September-13-2007
This album has really grown on me in the last year. I liked previous Bebo Norman songs like "Nothing Without You", "Disappear" and "Great Light of the World" so I knew I'd like the songs on this album and "I Will Lift My Eyes", "Into the Day" and "Now That You're Gone" are standout tracks. In comparison to his previous work, I feel this is Bebo's strongest overall album and top 10 of 2006! The songs take you on a journey and the collaboration with Jason Ingram is brilliant. Looking forward to more.

Great, but not CC's best work | Posted September-06-2007
Most of the reviews on this site are based solely on the strength of "East to West" and were posted before this album even released. I also love that song, along with "The Altar and the Door", "Slow Fade" and "Somewhere In The Middle". Those 4 songs are so good that this is the best overall Christian release of 2007, however it is the 3rd best Casting Crowns album. Epilogue has some insightful comments about the other songs not being up to the incredibly high standard set by Casting Crowns, however it is still a great album compared to other releases this year and a must-have.

Another vote of approval | Posted September-04-2007
I am a big Daughtry fan, and "Home" is one of my most played songs this year. The more I listen to it, the more inspired I get. Particularly, the line "and where Your love has always been enough for me". As a metaphor, that type of imagery may be stronger than half of the "Christian" songs on radio right now. It's also a very honest, introspective album with other good songs like "It's Not Over", "Used To" and "Over You". Along with Collective Soul's "Afterwords", this is one of the few mainstream albums this year that Christians can and should support to show support for mainstream "artists of faith".

Standout Christian Album of Decade | Posted September-04-2007
There are a few standout Christian albums of the decade so far in my opinion and this is one of them along with "Casting Crowns" and "Arriving" by Chris Tomlin where every song is powerful, lyrically strong and truly deserving of the top rating that other albums are compared to. The songs "Cut", "Better", "I Can't Do This" and "Bittersweet" are all-time Plumb songs and Tiffany Arbuckle-Lee is my favorite vocalist ever. Amy Lee of Evanescence credits Plumb as an influence and you can't go wrong with this album.

Strong Release from RSJ | Posted September-04-2007
If you liked any of RSJ's earlier work, you'll love this release. If not, give it a try as overall I like this even more than her Greatest Hits album and it is equal to her live album, "aLive in Florida". This has the most energy and vocally and lyrically is very strong. Standout songs are "Alive", "God Help Me", "You Are Loved" and "Take All of Me". RSJ has really matured and ranks as one of the best female Christian artists in my opinion along with Plumb.

Gets Better Each Time! | Posted September-04-2007
It took me awhile to review this album because at first I felt it wasn't up to the standard of "Anything Worth Saying" and it isn't as strong overall, however it is still worthy of a great review and ranks in the top 10 of 2007 in my opinion. The standout songs "Give Me Words to Speak", "The Name of Jesus", "Watch Over Me" and "Create Again" are all very worshipful and overall this album rocks a little harder which is cool. It gets better each time I listen to it and the songs flow into each other so the order of the songs is important to fully enjoy them all.

Great Third Day Compilation! | Posted August-30-2007
Mac Powell summed it up well when he said he knew fans can make their own playlists so if Third Day was going to release a greatest hits anthology, they needed to put some extras in there for fans. This may well be the retail deal of the year (could be a new Dove Award category) with 17 tracks and a full-length DVD for only $14. I have passed on several other compilations that came out this past year, but this is a strong exception! I especially enjoy the new versions of "Thief", "My Hope Is You" and "Love Song", all Third Day classics.

Best New Band of Decade! | Posted August-29-2007
"Over My Head" and "How To Save A Life" are 2 of my top 25 most played songs. I love the style of this album and this is the first mainstream band of the 2000's that has me totally hooked from their debut release. Probably the most influential "band of faith" in mainstream music and my vote for best new band of the decade! I love the album more and more and also check out the songs "All At Once" and "Look After You". Here are the phenomenal lyrics for "How to Save a Life":
The Fray lyrics.
