With a reputation for performing some of Christian music’s most electrifying live shows, Third Day released their twelfth album, Lead Us Back: Songs of Worship, on March 3, 2015. With Lead Us Back, Third Day is connecting Old Testament images of 'beauty rising from ashes' and 'new life in these dry bones' to the redeeming work of Christ. The album features their single, "Soul On Fire."
Third Day began like many bands do, by drumming up local support. After winning over crowds in its native Atlanta, Third Day eventually signed with Reunion Records and released its self-titled debut in 1996.
After the group’s successful introduction to the masses, Third Day didn’t wait long to record its second album, Conspiracy No. 5. A slight stylistic departure from the more rootsy strains of its predecessor, Third Day earned a Grammy nomination and its first Dove Award for “Rock Album of the Year” and “Rock Song of the Year” for the album’s standout single “Alien.”
Seamlessly transitioning between the pop, rock and worship genres, Offerings: A Worship Album followed in 2000. Recorded for the band’s devoted fan base known as “Gomers,” the album was in response to the powerful praise & worship sets happening during Third Day’s concerts.
Comprised of frontman Mac Powell, bassist Tai Anderson, guitarist Mark Lee and drummer David Carr, Third Day has now served up guitar-fueled anthems with a distinctly Southern flavor for more than two decades.
Focusing on all aspects of the believer’s journey in their relevant, hope-filled lyrics, Third Day’s album Revelation, showcased the band’s community spirit by featuring a slew of guest appearances from Flyleaf’s Lacey Mosley, American Idol alum Chris Daughtry and guitar prodigy Robert Randolph. The album featured powerful songs including "Born Again" and the title track "Revelation" that touched the hearts of all audiences. The band then released Move, in October of 2010 featuring the singles "Trust In Jesus," "Lift Up Your Face" and "Children of God."
Other fan favorites include, "Your Love is Like a River," off their 2012 album Miracle. "It's one of my favorite songs on the album, and a lot of that has to do with the three attributes of God- that His love is like river, a fire, and a rock," David explains. "When I think of a river I think of something that is constantly flowing. It's dependable, it's powerful, and its cuts its own path. God is a lot like that, and his love is like that, it goes where its goes and it's impossible to stop it."
"Your Love is Like a River," follows their heart wrenching hit, “I Need A Miracle," a song based on a true story of a man who almost took his own life.
“This couple come up to us (at one of their shows) and shared a story about how their son had been in a really bad place in life, and decided he was gonna end his life,” explains lead singer Mac Powell. “As he was going through with this, he turned the radio on and ‘Cry Out to Jesus’ was on, and he did just that -- he cried out to Jesus and prayed. And this couple shared with us how his life has drastically changed.
It goes to show the power of music and the power of the relationship we have together as radio, and as a band and how we can help to change people’s lives and encourage people.”

Just saw them last night with Trevor Morgan and Matt Maher. What an incredible show they put on! I was a fan before, but seeing them live, and hearing their hearts just solidifies it. I definitely plan on picking up the live recording of they show as well. Thanks to the band and all of the artists for the work they do. It is very much appreciated!
Third Day is inspiring!| Posted October 15, 2011
I just saw this band last night in Minneapolis and they are great live! They played to a sold out crowd but it seemed as if it was a small jam session and we were all hanging out. It was inspiring and intimate. They seemed like great down to earth Christian guys you wanted to hang with and be like! They are not very old yet there were multiple generations there. I can see why they have been around for 19 years!
Third Day, Move| Posted October 14, 2010
This group is not shy or timid. Their songs are a lot more powerful than a lot of Christian bands. They defiantly want to get their message accross.

I would just like to thank Third Day for keeping their lyrics honest and relevant, and keeping their guitars screaming!

I am so pleased and excited to get MOVE from Third Day. Their music has really pierced my heart and spoken to me. I've seen in concert about six times and have been blown away every time. If you've never listened to Third Day, start NOW!
