I had never heard of Planetshakers prior to them being featured as an artists of the month here on NRT, but they are deffinetely one of my new favorites. This is the first album of theirs I've heard, and I was TOTALLY knocked off my feet by it. The mix of worship lyrics, plus some pop-y rock-y beats, are totally my thing. I loved it! A few of my favorite tracks were "Power", "You Are God", and "Song of Victory", but my favorite was the last track on the record, "We Cry Out". Totally brought me to tears. Such a powerful message! Same goes for all the songs on this record, though. All wonderfully written. Can't wait to hear more from Planetshakers!
Dara Maclean review. | Posted July-24-2011
New artist, Miss Dara Maclean, came out with her first album, You Got My Attention, and man, it really did get my attention! One of the best first-releases I've heard in a long time. My favorite song, is the single, "Suitcases". All the songs, including Suitcases, have great beats and rythems, but also great powerful lyrics. She reminds me alot of Francesca Battistelli. Such a fabulous artist! Can't wait to hear more from her. HIGHLY recommended album! One of the best of 2011, by far.

I had heard about Shonlock, when he toured with TobyMac. So I sorta knew who he was when NRT got this album for free to listen to. I, personally, am not a huge fan of Rap in general (TobyMac is where I draw the line, lol.), so this album didn't really stand out to me. I liked the first song, "Something in Your Eyes", but to me, the album kinda regressed. A few of the songs actually sounded like they would be secular.. Which I'm not super fond of. If you like Lecrae, or someone on those lines, I'm sure you'll love this album. I, myself, was kinda dissapointed with this album. Wishing Shonlock all the best, though.

I had heard of Aaron Keyes (just from knowing about Christian music, haha) prior to listening to this CD, but I never really sat down and took the time to listen to any of his songs. So, I was pumped to preview this album for free here on NRT. ;) I listened to the whole thing all the way through, and really enjoyed it. Great worship album! My favorite tracks are "Only Just Begun", and Life Without God". All great songs, though! You can tell there is alot of heart in these songs. Highly recommended!
TFK! | Posted June-06-2011
I heard about Thousand Foot Krutch through the grape vine, and from a few friends, so I decided to see what they were like. I heard a song or two of theirs on the radio, but never really got the feel of their music. So I got a free download of their song "Bring Me To Life", and I totally fell right in love with this band. I then went to the closest LifeWay, and bought this album. ;) This album rocks. I mean, it just does. I'm not huge on some of the scmreaing, but it's not super screamer-ish, so I don't mind it. (If that makes sense. :P Haha.) It's quite difficult to pick a favorite song, but if I must, my favorite would be "Scream". Fantastic song! This is one of those kind of albums, you listen to it over and over, and you never get sick of it. It's totally awesome! Thousand Foot Krutch really knows how to have powerful, christian lyrics, but still in a rocking, fun way, that old and young can enjoy. One of the best album's of 2009, by far. Can't wait to hear what TFK brings to the table next! Highly recommended album!!
Miss. Tricia Brock, lead singer of the ever popular band Superchick, releases her first solo album, The Road. As a fan of Superchick, I was looking forward to see what Tricia's solo work would be like. To my surprise, it was a worship album (being so different from Superchick.). So, listening to the entire album, I really like it. My favorite tracks from the album are "Breath of God", "Lean", "Always", and "Broken for Love's Sake". The entire album is really great, though. It's a very raw, natural sounding album, with little (to no) special effects.
The only slight downside to it is, Superchick fans may not be super impressed (unless you like worship.). It has no rock or pop to it, more like, sit-down-with-a-guitar-and-sing kind of feel. I personally, love this album. If you like worship, you should love this album. It has some wonderful lyrics! Tricia has been blessed with wonderful talent. Can't wait to hear what she has next!
Newsong! | Posted May-21-2011
Prior to attending Winter Jam Spectacular 2011, I had heard a song or two of Newsong's, but never really got into their music. But when they stepped onto stage, I instantly connected to their music. So, I was super excited to stream this album free, here on NRT. The first track, "One True God", instantly brought my mind back to Winter Jam. It took me back, to the feeling of a room of 20,000+ believers, all singing along to, "You are the one, true, God..". Just gave me chills. The 2nd track, "Love is the Medicine", was also sung at the Winter Jam concert I attended. Again, it brought my back. As the song starts, with the "Oh's", I remember the entire croud singing along. SO COOL! The next track is "The Same God", and I really enjoyed it. The next, was "The Way Your Smile", featuring Dove Award artist of the year, Francesca Battistelli. I LOVED this song! Russ Lee, and Francesca's voices sound awesome together. Then the following songs, "This World is Ours to Love", and "Strong City" I really loved. I really love the next track, "Why Worry". The lyrics are awesome. Then onto "Between the Cross and Crown", was a really awesome, strong song. Then the last two, "Move" and "The Reason" were both fantastic. I LOVED this album over all - A must-have, for sure. ;) (I'm getting it next time I go to Lifeway. :P Hahaha.) Newsong's best work, in my opinion. Highly recommended!
Chris August! | Posted May-17-2011
I just recently bought this album off iTunes, and I really love it. Very well done for his first piece of work! My favorite songs on this album, would probably be "Stranger", and "The Campfire Song". Both very sweet, deep messages, and awesome tunes. All these songs are very well written, and you can tell Chris really put his heart and soul into these songs. Highly recommended EP - For sure a must have! :)

Okay, seriously. This might just be my favorite single in the history of the world. It's BEYOND hilarious. The video is fall-on-the-floor-laughing-funny. :P Seeing Chris perform it live is also quite ammusing. If there was a dove award for funniest song of the year, he would win it. ;) This single rocks!

I've been anticipating this album, being a big fan of Building 429 since their hit, "Glory Defined". I just bought this album today, and I've listened to every track. This album is totally awesome! By far their best work. To be honest, I can barely pick a favorite. Each song has such a powerful, different message, and an awesome sound. The lead singer, Jason Roy, co-wrote/wrote all of the songs, and they were all beautifully written. My favorite, though, has to be "Right Beside You". It was a great surprise to hear Miss. Dawn Michele, of Fireflight, featured on this song. Jason and Dawn's voices sound awesome together. (Fireflight and B429 should tour together. ;)) Over all, this album is totally awesome. If you liked any of their previous work, you will LOVE, Listen To The Sound!
