Ah the album that introduced us to the now lengendary P.O.D.  Snuff the Punk has the beginning elements of what would make the band famous later on, furious metal songwriting and excellent rapping.  Of course being the debut album, the production quality doesn't sound good but that is to be expected.

Snuff the Punk is a fun metal/rapcore album that fans of the band should check out to hear how their humble beginnings.

I never really heard of Daes Vail until I discovered RadioU.  I really liked what I heard, which is weird because I usually don't listen to that type of music, and I picked up this album.  I also really liked what I heard.  The band brings a nice ndie rock tone that isen't too overpowering or arrogant.  Wes Blaylock's voice is also a star here as he is able to hit a really amazing number of notes in all sorts of vocal tone regions.

Deas Vail is a really good band that makes honest music and has a good time doing it.

If I had to define at which point August Burns Red really broke out and became the powerhouses that they are today, I would have to point to this album.  The dreaded "sophomore slump" does not apply here as this band proves by revamping their lineup and delievering what is possibly one of the best metal albums I've ever heard.  The songs I heard from their debut album, Thrill Seeker, were good but didn't have that great of a production value and musical depth.  Those issues have been answered as this album's production sounds good and the band's musical depth really shines.  You can tell that ABR quickly figured out who they were and what they wanted to sound like in the time frame between albums.  This album has more brutal sounding songs and more maturity in the songwriting.  The final track, "Redemption," is especially noteworthy because it's basically telling us what ABR is all about, 5 guys who are serving God through their music.

Messengers is easily ABR's finest work and it's also one of the best metal albums period.

Superchick's latest album, Rock What You Got, feels like a bit of a step backwards from their excellent Beauty From Pain album.  It sounds more like their first two albums, a mix of pop punk and electronic, but it still retains a bit of the rock edge from Beauty From Pain.  The songwriting also suffers a bit by transferring back to the band's early years.  But besides that, it's still a fun album to listen to.

A new album is in the works and I can't wait to see where Superchick goes from here.

Superchick's Beauty From Pain is probably their best album so far.  After two albums filled with upbeat pop punk songs, the band takes on a more rock driven focus for this one but still retain their old sound on some songs.  The songwriting has also gone through a change as more slow ballad-type songs are present and the music shows growth and maturity. Lyrically, the album deals with more mature themes then their previous ones and it's a nice move by the band to do that at the risk of growing stale.

Beauty From Pain is an ambitious album.  The band's style has changed a bit while still retaining their roots, the songwriting shows growth and maturity, and it sounds cleaner production wise.  All these changes work as Superchick manages to make their best album to date.

Superchick's 2nd album, Last One Picked, is a vast improvement over their debut.  The production quality sounds way better, Tricia Brock's vocals don't sound so flat anymore, and each of the songs sound unique.  The band has also learned a bit in the time between albums as their hip hop/rock combination style is more fine tuned on this album.  The song lyrics remain positive.

Last One Picked is a great improvement over Karaoke Superstars.  More thought was put into this album and it shows.

The debut album from Superchick, at first listen, sounds very shoddy.  The production value isn't the best, Tricia Brock's vocals sound flat, and most of the songs sound the same.  While these are major flaws of the album, the positive lyrics and the rock/disco/hip hop sound really make it an enjoyable listen.

MxPx's 3rd album is what some fans of the band consider to be their breakthrough album and the best one of their career.  These fans are right.  This album is their best one yet and is a breakthrough.  The learning curve that took place over the first 2 albums is very prevalent here.  Every song is fun and you can tell the hard work that went into it wasn't wasted.  My complaint from the last album, about the political songs, seems to have been heard as there is very little mention of politics here.

MxPx's 3rd outing manages to hit every note right.  The band has managed to not only make the album of their careers, but one of the best punk records period.

MxPx's second album showcases a more mature style from the band.  They have clearly learned from their previous album.  The quality and production sounds much better, the songwriting is more tight and flowing, and the introduction of Tom Wisniewski really brings a more versitile sound to the band.  While most of the songs are excellent, a few songs fall into the punk cliche of speaking out against politics.  While these songs sound good, they just take a bit away from the excellence previous.

This is still a strong punk record that really defines MxPx as a band.

MxPx today has become something a bit legendary in the punk community.  This debut album contains everything that people know and love about the band.  Fast paced songs, positive lyrics, and youthful energy that seems to flow from the speakers.  This is a great album for new fans to see where the phenomenon began.
