EPIC!! | Posted June-19-2012
I'd have to say that my favorite song off this album is God of This City. I think this album does a great job to keep a variety, though it isn't anything groundbreaking it sure is an album that will reach hundreds if not thousands of lives

Stepping Past Normal Praise & Worship | Posted July-30-2011
Aaron Shust is more than your typical praise and worship artist. Over the years he has consistently delivered fresh music and lyrics. “Whispered and Shouted” is a solid album that any praise and worship collector should have.
“Whispered and Shouted” starts with “Long Live the King”. This song is an excellent song, solid guitar, solid vocals, and solid lyrics. “All I have is Yours (Long Live the King). Aware that we're unworthy of Your Grace” The next song “Like I Never Felt Before” sounds the country and rock mixed. These two put together you have another exceptional song from Aaron. “Create Again,” “Watch Over Me,” “Life Itself,” and “The Name of Jesus” are all slower songs but standout also. I don’t normally life slower songs but Aaron Shust has changed that he delivers softer melodies but even better songwriting. “Give Me Words to Speak” is the full-length version of the beginning track in “Anything Worth Saying” this is probably my favorite song of the entire album. The chorus says “Give me Words to speak, don't let my Spirit sleep. Cause I can't think of anything worth saying. But I know that I owe You my life.” I Will Wait” is something Aaron hasn’t done before. It is very catchy and you will have it stuck in your head in no time. The album ends on a worshipful note with “Worthy Let All I Do”. This is a nice closer for the album and it takes the album back to the worshipful mood. It is a solid track and perfect closer.
While the praise and worship is usually repetitious from artist to artist, Aaron delivers something divers and different. I you are looking for a praise and worship album you should check it out.

TFK Gives Us Fire, and Life | Posted November-02-2010
1 - The Invitation: 5 (stars)
2 - Welcome to the Masquerade: 5
3 - Fire It Up: 5
4 - Bring Me to Life: 5
5 - E for Extinction: 5
6 - Watching Over Me: 4
7 - The Part That Hurts the Most (Is Me): 5
8 - Scream: 5
9 - Look Away: 4
10 - Forward Motion: 5
11 - Outta Control: 5
12 - Smack Down: 5
13 - Already Home: 5
Back in 2000 when TFK became more known in the Christian Music industry, they had released some pretty solid records music wise. Ever since then they have continued to release solid album after solid album and then we have "Welcome to the Masquerade".
"Welcome to the Masquerade" starts off with "The Invitation" an epic intro then leads into the head banging title track "Welcome to the Masquerade" this track has nicely done vocals and sweet guitar riffs.
According to Wikipedia "Fire it Up" has charted at #31 on the iTunes rock page, #18 on Active rock charts, 35 on the Billboard Rock Charts and #5 on Christianrock.net. The song has been used in numerous promotions by Sports teams, Race drivers and in Movies. A lot of success there.
The first single off the album "Bring me to Life" which was also available as a free download from "Feed the Beat" and is I’d say the best song of the album. "E for Extinction" starts off soft than they bring in the crunchy guitars and get you jumping. "Watching Over Me" slows things down a little on the album is about someone crying out to God. "The Part That Hurts the Most (Is Me)" and "Scream," both are meaningful and hard-rockin’ as the previous tracks. We slow things down with "Look Away" an FM Static style song, but still fits the album. "Forward Motion" is the best of the four ballads and is the most meaningful song off the entire record.
"Outta Control" and "Smack Down" both are high energy. "Outta Control' talks about needing God's help, whereas "Smack Down" is an in-your-face song.
"The closing song "Already Home" is a powerful ballad and the perfect way to close an epic album like this.
If TFK continues like this they are in for even more success. Highlights off the album include E for Extinction, Fire It Up, Already Home, Smack Down, and The Part That Hurts The Most (Is Me).

Solo? | Posted March-26-2010
So Jonathan has a very successful career with Hawk Nelson so it seems reasonable for him to release a solo project on the side, but Under the Canopy is a terrible project, some songs are to long, others are to slow, and worst of all they all sound the same.
I know it sounds like I'm bashing him, but I'm just saying it all sounds like the previous song in front of it.
"Heart Set" and "You Always You" are among my least favorites they sound cliquish and it's repetitious through both songs. "The Siege Of Atlantis" is one out of three songs I like out of ten. It starts off like a slow song then it starts to become up beat from my standard it is better then anything Hawk Nelson has put out. Under the Canopy it didn't get why that was in there but regardless it's my second favorite song. The last song thats my favorite is Everything it's a really good song with great lyrics, but other then those three songs. This album falls short of my exceptations.

Better Yet (If You Like The Album Or A Certain song ) buy it on iTunes.

City On Our Knees | Posted February-13-2010
"City On Our Knees" is my favorite song of the album, the chorus tells us what we as need to be like not a city, but a nation on our knees.
This Single features some Re:mixes that are awesome I would have bought the single just for "City On Our Knees" but any Single that has more than a single on it is awesome.
