Though Red, at is core, is the same band, "Until We Have Faces" has a sound that's a bit different from their previous albums.
I've always been a big fan of Red, but I have to say, I really like the slight changes to their sound on this album. Some of the songs are definitely heavier with the screaming and over-all intensity. The other things I was surprised about were the additions of a chorus and female voices in the background. If I'd been told about this before listening to the album, I probably would've had mixed feelings about it. Now that I've listened to the album, I'm absolutely blown away! And the fac that this was a concept album just topped it all off. Amazing work!

Bethany Dillon is my all-time favorite Christian artist. In fact, she's the first Christian artist I listened to...so I've followed her music from her debut album on. There's no doubt, she matures in sound with each album, and each album sounds a bit different from the last. Her debut had more of a folk sound. "Stop & Listen" has just a bit of a pop undertone to it, but it is still great.
This albums got a great sound, and I'd reccomend it to any fan of Christian music.

I am so excited for this album release. It's been about 3 years since Skillet's last studio album! "Awake" might actually be better than "Comatose", but don't get me wrong, I loved that album. I have to say, this album has a great balance of harder rock and softer, more sentimental music. I especially love Jen Ledger's vocals on "Monster" and "Awake and Alive". I am definitely picking this one up on the 25th and would recommend it to anyone.
A Sweet Sweet Sound Indeed! | Posted April-20-2009
I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised with Sarah Reeves. I recently heard the song "Sweet Sweet Sound" on the radio. I loved the lyrics, but I wasn't sure if I could listen to her entire album. She has a sweet, pop sound, and though I'm more used to acoustic music (Bethany Dillon) and rock (Kutless, Skillet) I have to say, I loved this album.
Both the lyrics and the music were great. I definitely would recommend that you listen to the entire album before deciding whether or not you enjoy her. Like I said, I usually don't enjoy music like this. My favorite songs on this album were "Sweet Sweet Sound" and "Come Save".
It's really hard to find anything wrong with the album. The only thing I was disappointed with was the length of the album; I wish there were at least a few more tracks. :-)
However, that's not going to stop me from buying it ASAP.
Quiet The Surprise! | Posted September-06-2008
Okay, so I've listened to Krystal Meyers ever since her first album came out (before most people knew who she was). I always loved her edgy rock style.
However, this spring I heard the single "Shine" on the radio and thought, "This is different; I wonder who this is." It totally shocked me when I found out it was Krystal. Her change in style was a near 360°!
Though I loved that song, along with the single "Make Some Noise" (which came along later), I was still a bit skeptical about her new album.
After listening to the whole album preview, I was pleasantly surprised. Though her style changed, I couldn't find one song I didn't love.
I am definitely buying this album and would recommend this to anyone who is already a fan (and of course anyone else).
