La Diferencia EP by NEEDTOBREATHE La Diferencia EP by NEEDTOBREATHE
This is one of the best EPs out- Difference Maker has to be one of the most well written songs I've heard. SO good.  I hate that it's not available to download- I'm stuck listening to youtube versions...
Glorious Ruins Deluxe Edition by Hillsong Worship Glorious Ruins Deluxe Edition by Hillsong Worship
Normally I'm not a big HIllsongs fan because I think that they just crank out songs for the sake of cranking out songs HOWEVER this CD is full of songs that are powerful and creatively done- they aren't...
Need You Now by Plumb Need You Now by Plumb
Plumb has been one of those artists that either hits in right on the head or misses completely - This album is somewhere in between the two- She's not the same artist she was on Chaotic Resolve before-...

Awesomeness | Posted February-16-2010
This album is by far the rocket summer's best album. It has got a real depth to it- and the music is absolutely beautiful- from huge guitars to insanely catchy backbeats, to Mr. Avery's high-pitched but not irritating voice- the entire album comes together so beautifully!

Pretty much every song on the album is worth a listen or maybe two..or three...thousand.

It's an "Ok" album | Posted January-28-2010
So I heard a preview:
These are just my initial thoughts based on what I've heard:

Tonight (w/ John Cooper) is actually a pretty cool song. It's got a pretty cool driving "techno'ish" beat to it.

Get Back Up- I don't like it. It's cliche. Good message but overused words

Funky Jesus Music- I like the music. I will overlook the lyrics. "soul gumbo" . "Funky Jesus Music" "Juicy flow" No sir. I feel like i should be wearing velour sweatpants with "Juicy" written on the backside.

City ON Our Knees- ya'll all know what I think about this song: no need to re-hash it

SHowstopper- I don't like it- when you have to find words that end in "opper" just to make a chorus- ugh

CHanged Forever- I like the verses- the chorus will grow on me

Hold On- haha the autotune on "hold on" just made me think of autotune the news on youtube

The rap by his son: same thing: autotune the news

Hey Devil: BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA this is a updated CARMAN! haha. that's all i could think of. bahahahah

Wonderin' - I like it. but I'm biased because I love when Matt THeissen shows up in tracks

Captured- it's ok

Start Somewhere- oh man, I really want to like Tobymac. But the music never went anywhere. It was just latin to be latin- there was no point.

Break Open the Sky- it's a cool jam but it's lyrics consist of OOOOH OOOOH OOOH OOOH OOH- I'd have to hear more.

I really want to like Tobymac. but he always just seems alittle late on the music scene with things like autotune or certain beats- I could name ten other artists who have used the elements that He has used in this album in better ways and produced better music.

That being said- it is a "good" album for CCM. it will do them justice and keep him as CCM's "rocksoulhipfunkalicious-i'm-so-cool-i-can-where-scarves-in-july" guy.

Raised a bar or set a standard? No.

I think that he has musical potential and could be a really great artists. but he's got to leave key phrases and key song arrangements from previous albums off new albums.

I LOVE EM! | Posted January-27-2010
I love this album. THe only song I don't really care for is Deathbed- I find it obnoxious and tired. It just drags on. Some of the best songs in my opinion on this album are Up and Up; Give; Bite My Tongue.

Classic RK.

I LOVE THIS BAND | Posted January-25-2010
I love this band. Owl City makes music that makes you smile on bad days-

Fireflies
Dental Care
Hot Air Balloon- are some of my favorites

This band is so unique must have

OK | Posted January-21-2010
Ok so this song is one of my most hated songs of 2009 and will probably stay that way for 2010

BUT

i like that this CD has more than just a single song on it- i like that he has given more remixes- because he generally is good at producing solid remixes of his songs.

Wow. | Posted January-21-2010
This transition has not produced what I thought it would produce: good music. Tait no doubt is a great and versatile vocalist. but you can't make poor lyrics sound good with mediocre music.

Born Again- sounds like a B-side from High School Musical: The Redeemed years. Seriously, I could hear Zac Efron singing this song.

On Your knees- no new message. mediocre music. a story about a girl

Light Up- I got excited about it because I thought they may promoting smoking
(sarcasm- CCM needs scandal sometimes- just to spice up life)
I just like the "Where My Boys- Light Up Light UP! part. But it sounds like they stole this from Toby-Mac seriously. and you all know how i feel about tobymac

One Shot- Same thing- Ripped it from Tobymac. and there is a reference to twitter and facebook in the first minute. I couldn't listen to the rest of the song
horrible rhymes.

I'll Be- meh...

Highlights and Lowlights | Posted January-11-2010
This album is good- I'm not a previous fan so i don't have the history with this band that some of you may- I like some of the more mid-tempo songs the rock songs just seem to zany.

Same Ol' | Posted January-07-2010
THis CD is a mediocre worship CD. Nothing to outstanding- nothing to horrible. if you have Lincoln Brewster's new Cd and Michael W. Smith's newe album- you have the best songs on this CD.
Alot of the songs just seem really rushed. Only 2 for congregational use.

Horrible Album: Their Worst | Posted December-28-2009
Highly disappointed. Why OH WHY do labels keep letting bands put out horrible albums. The entire album sounds completely rushed like an indie project that they pulled out of a closet- slapped a fancy cover on- and called it an album.
Most of the songs on here are covers of other songs from bands that did the songs better than CC could ever sing

then the last track? Don't even get me started- what is that?
His vocals sound horrible
the music sounds like it is in double time.
and does not mesh well with the vocals

The only track that I liked was the re-tooling of Joyful Joyful We adore thee.

The title track is a horrible try to get on to the radio.

I hate to say it | Posted December-03-2009
I am not a big fan of Mr. Tomlin personally- I think he lacks creativity and rides on the success of past accomplishments- That being said, this christmas album is very nice. Songs like My Soul magnifies the Lord is a new take on "Christmas music" and we are using in our church for the holidays
Winter Snow is also a beautiful song thanks to the vocals of Audrey Assad- who has a stunning voice.
