Sweet Story... | Posted February-18-2009
This little book is simple but sweet..
It's a story about a little girl who knows that something is wrong with her mom because she's terribly ill. Then she overhears that her mom has cancer and everything totally changes for her.
The little girl does what she can to help her family. She adores playing the piano and has a natural talent for it. The little girl and her younger sister aren't allowed to see their mom in the hospital because it won't allow children.
She decides that she'll do whatever it takes to help her mom even if it means to give up playing the piano! She had heard about how Abraham had given his son to God. So she thought if she gave up playing the piano maybe God would heal her mom. She soon learns that not being able to play the piano is extremely hard and what's worse..is her mom doesn't seem to be getting any better!
Her mom continues to battle cancer in the hospital but there is one room that she finds solace in. She likes to spend her time there and she enjoys the sun that radiates into it. It's the sunroom...
I'm not going to reveal what happens in the end.. so you'll have to read it to find out ;D

A Woman's Soul | Posted December-30-2008
Captivating is such a wonderful book for women!!
It revealed things about myself and other women that I didn't know about before.
This book made it easier for me to come out of my shell and really talk to the other ladies in my Bible study. It shows you the heart of a woman and it talks about the woman's soul. I love how we are God's princesses and He is our Hero that saves us in our story.
I highly recommend this book to any woman and even a man who might want to learn more about the feminine heart.

Emily's "Climb" | Posted December-29-2008
Emily Climbs is the second book in the Emily series. It’s a really good second book and it starts with Emily who is now older. From the name of the title, Emily starts to “climb” in this book with her stories and poetry being published.
Emily’s relatives have enough money and they’ve decided to let Emily stay with her Aunt Ruth in a town not far from New Moon. The reason for Emily going is so that she can go to a nice high school there. When Emily arrives, she feels all alone and miserable in her new home. Emily struggles to adjust to the new school and she has problems with a girl who causes nothing but trouble for Emily. Emily’s “climb” is hard for her but worth it in the end! She learns a lot from her experiences and she starts to mature more…
It’s a good book and I enjoyed reading it!!

Are You Living Under God? | Posted December-28-2008
This book written by Toby Mac and Michael Tait is well done and it's a great devotional. I love reading about real people in America's history and how they were a part of God's plan.
Each chapter first has a section about a person or a historical piece. Then it gives you a story from the Bible with verses. After that it tells you how to (live it). The whole point of this book is to help you find out what your part is in God's plan. I loved it because it inspires me when I read about people who made a difference in America. This book also has a few pictures in it and at the end of the book it has a place where you sign your name and date stating you will live under God. It's a pretty good devotional :D

A Great Children's Book | Posted December-20-2008
I got this book from a friend when I was a little girl and I loved it to pieces! It's a sweet story about a puppy named Spunky who keeps a diary and writes in it.
The story starts out with Spunky who is with his mom, brothers, and sisters. His mom is uneasy about something and he wonders why. She tells him that they all will be getting new homes and they'll have to be good to their owners. Spunky watches as two of his brothers and sisters gets adopted and then it's his turn...
I have to admit it is a sad story at first but then it gets much happier later on. I bought this book for one of my nieces who is now eight and she loved it so much that she read it all in one day! It's a great children's book :D

Better than the first! | Posted December-17-2008
I absolutely love these books! I think this book is better than the first which is Kingdom's Dawn. Kingdom's Hope is packed full of adventure and excitement.
The story starts out with Leinad (main character) who's gone to fight the evil Fairos. Fairos has enslaved many people including Tess (the girl Leinad likes). Leinad rides to Fairos' castle and has a tiring and hard sword fight with him. Fairos accidentally kills his son in the fight and lets Leinad and the slaves go but Fairos isn't done with them yet! Leinad leads the people to Red Canyon and notices that it's a steep climb down. Fairos sends his men to attack Leinad at the Red Canyon but the King has sent a message to Leinad saying He will deliver them... What happens next? You'll have to read it to find out!
I recommend this series to not only teens but to adults too! :D I have 4 more of these books to read in this wonderful series and I'm looking forward to it.

Romance | Posted December-17-2008
When I saw this book, I thought it had more to do with being on boats and dealing with pirates and stuff like that. It's actually mostly on land in England most of the time, which is great because I love books that are located in England!
The story starts out where Dominique has been hired by Admiral Chase to be a governess for his son. What he doesn't know is Dominique is spying on him and trying to find important documents to take for France. Chase is intrigued by Dominique and really starts to like her but when he finds out about what she's doing....what happens? Dominique has a reason for doing it, but what is it? I won't tell!
This book is definitely romantic and it's sweet how Dominique falls for Admiral Chase :D Dominique is a Christian and Chase and his friends aren't so she tries her best to stand up and face them! I really enjoyed this book by M. L. Tyndall and will most likely read more of her books.

Lots of Fun | Posted December-13-2008
I wanted to try something different so I bought this book and I absolutely love it!
This book has a ton of allegory in it.
I love how the story and people are similar to the ones in the Bible. For instance, Peyton (Leinad's father) is like Adam. Peyton and his wife were given charge over a kingdom by the King but they were tempted by the Dark Knight and so they lost it. Leinad (main character) witnesses his father's death by the Dark Knight and then flees with a young slave girl, Tess (who had been living with Peyton and Leinad). Leinad has a calling that the King has given him and Leinad starts to understand what that calling is.
Follow Leinad and Tess as they become enslaved by the evil Fairos and when Leinad is left to be killed by the Moshi Beasts! If you love Medieval stuff like I do, then you should like this :D

Mystery and Cats | Posted December-12-2008
I love just about anything that has to do with cats and so when I saw this book...I had to buy it! For me I don't think it's as well written but it's still a good story.
It starts out with Kate Forrest and her son Jeremy (both Christians) who find out that they are heirs to a distant relatives' estate. The estate is a fancy beach house in Alabama and is full of pets! In the will, it states that they can't sell the house and they must take care of all the animals that live there.
That's not all, Kate thought she was the only heir but she was wrong. She discovers that there's another heir to the estate. Jake Novak is the other heir, he's tough and never seems to be content about anything. The problem is they all have to live in the big house together! At first, Kate and Jake don't get along so well but you can guess what happens. They both start to like each other but won't admit it.
When Jeremy makes friends with a trouble making kid named Derrek. Things start to happen! The police find Derrek missing and then they find his body and blame Jeremy for the murder. Jeremy was the last one seen with his friend that night but Kate and Jake know he didn't do it. They won't give up until they find the truth.
The cats ~ Jacques & Cleo are actually not in the book as much as I thought they would be. This book is not great but it is an interesting read and I'll probably get the two other books in this series :)

Such a Fantastic Book :) | Posted December-12-2008
I've read the complete Anne of Green Gables series and I loved entering the world of Anne in those books! The Emily series makes me feel the same way about Anne. This is the first book in the series and might be the best one.
The beginning starts out where Emily Starr finds out her dad has died and that she is now an orphan. Emily must leave her home and live with her two aunts and cousin at New Moon. At New Moon, she finds comfort in writing poems and stories. Emily then has to go to school and makes new friends with Teddy, Perry, and Ilse. Emily always finds herself in unusual predicaments and funny ones at that!
The Emily books are great classics and I will be reading more books of L. M. Montgomery for sure.
These books are definitely recommended to people who love Anne of Green Gables :D
