A Great Children's Book

I got this book from a friend when I was a little girl and I loved it to pieces! It's a sweet story about a puppy named Spunky who keeps a diary and writes in it.
The story starts out with Spunky who is with his mom, brothers, and sisters. His mom is uneasy about something and he wonders why. She tells him that they all will be getting new homes and they'll have to be good to their owners. Spunky watches as two of his brothers and sisters gets adopted and then it's his turn...
I have to admit it is a sad story at first but then it gets much happier later on. I bought this book for one of my nieces who is now eight and she loved it so much that she read it all in one day!
