My First Taste of Relient K | Posted June-27-2009
My first taste of Relient K was an interesting experience. I've had some great memories tied in with some of the songs on this cd. Listening to it again after listening to their newer cds, I can definetly tell the difference. But this is still one of my favorite cds.

Good Monsters | Posted April-10-2009
When I first listened to the cd "Good Monsters" it kind of creeped me out. Some of the songs like "Dead Man" and "All My Tears" actually explored a topic that not many of us like to think about - death. This is the first unique quality I saw in "Good Monsters".
The next thing I noticed was the strangeness of the song "Good Monsters":
"Not all monsters are bad, but the ones who are good never do what they could."
Huh??? This song pretty much states that everyone is a monster whether they realize it or not. We are just left to decide if we are the bad monsters or the good.
The last thing I realized about this album was the really pretty lyrics in songs like "Water Under The Bridge" and "Even Angels Cry". Whoever is writing those songs has a way with words:
"There are times meant for breaking
And words to ignore
And a bent to our souls
When our skin is at war
If leaving were freedom
Well, we'd both walk right out of that door"
(from "Water Under the Bridge")
Overall, this album stood out to me. It was very original and it is now a new favorite of mine.

The Afters | Posted April-10-2009
I had never heard of this band until a short time ago when I heard "Never Going Back to Okay" on the radio a couple times. I love their sound and can't get over listening to this cd. The lyrics to their songs are also really pretty.

Tobymac Rocks!!!! | Posted June-19-2008
In a world where hiphop demands are growing, tobymac came up with this cd. It shows that there is some clean hiphop. It gives a great face to modern christian music.

The Beautiful Letdown | Posted July-30-2009
Wow, this cd definitly was not a letdown. I think Switchfoot successed in making their first big hit.
First of all, the song "Meant to Live" was a perfect first song because it started the cd with a great guitar part and the words kind of set the theme for the whole album. Then I liked all the radio hits that followed like "Dare You to Move", "This is Your Life", "Gone", and "More Than Fine". The slower songs like "On Fire" and "Beautiful Letdown" that kind of evened out the other songs. And then there were the faster songs that hadn't been on the radio such as "Adding to the Noise" and "Amunition" that in my opinion gave the cd an extra punch. And finally, they end the album with "Twenty-Four" a really pretty slow-down song.
Overall, this was one of my favorite cds of all time.
