WeRcalled is a full-time family band with a full-time national touring schedule appearing at concerts, events, student camps, conferences, and revivals. All the group members have backgrounds in Christian ministries; serving in roles as pastor, youth pastor, Christian counseling, music minister, and missions.

We had the opportunity to speak with the band about their ministry and the story behind their latest single "King of Glory (How You Love Me)."

How do you all know each other?

Our name is WeRcalled, and we're a family band based out of South Arkansas. We've got our dad, Darry on the drums, my sister Gracie plays the bass, and her husband Eli is on keys. My brother Jonathon plays electric guitar and I am the lead singer while also on the acoustic guitar.

The family dynamic we have is really great with our mom on the road and my wife Taylor (our sound engineer) traveling with us. Also touring with three kids under 4 years old has its own fun stories as well. There are not many families out there touring so we have enjoyed doing events with other family bands like Cain who bring an awesome family dynamic to the Christian music industry as well.

Talk about your latest single, "King of Glory (How You Love Me)."

I remember sitting in the studio with our producer Casey Moore and being in awe of how the song means so much to me. It's based on Psalm 24. If you haven't read that Psalm, we really encourage you to. It talks of the glory of God. It talks about His holiness and authority over humanity and all creation. I read that Psalm and am just overwhelmed by the fact that the Holy, Mighty, All-Powerful King of Glory would love me. He loves us. And this kind of love goes back to what we talked about in that first question, we were just so overwhelmed, that it led us to write this song, and we pray that it's been as much of a blessing to others as it has been to us.

Calling is something many struggle with. What would you say to those who feel lost or unneeded by God?

I think the first place I would go is 2 Timothy 1:9. It says: "[He] saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began." This tells us that God really doesn't need us, but He wants us.

By our own power, we can't do anything to please him. We've all sinned and fallen short. But by the Grace of God and redemption through Christ, He allows us to be used and equips us to do His will. He tells us that in Hebrews 13:21. We are so blessed to be called to this ministry and equipped by God, and to someone who feels like they can't find their calling, I would say, submit to God and lean into humility. Psalm 25:8 and Proverbs 3:5-6 say He will lead you in what is right, He will teach You His way, and He will make your paths straight.

What's next for WeRcalled?

We have some things coming up like new song releases, a full year of events across the country, and a tour this fall with a great group of other artists. But we walk by faith and trust wherever He leads us. We pray that whatever our next steps are, they're for the Glory of God.

How can we be praying for you?

I would say for fresh anointing. Summer camps are coming up and that's always a busy season for us. We always need prayers for God-given strength and energy at that time. 5% of our ministry is on stage so pray for the other 95% of our ministry that is off stage that we bring Him glory in all that we do.
