Arkansas native and Tennessee resident David Leonard has been playing, singing, writing and recording music since college when he and friends formed the band Jackson Waters. He later performed with NEEDTOBREATHE before a season of recording as one-half of the critically-acclaimed, GRAMMY Award-nominated duo All Sons & Daughters.
David released his first solo album, The Wait, in March 2019 while wrestling through heartache, depression, confusion and redemption with his family and with God. Today, we look at one of his latest worship covers and one of his biggest contributions to modern worship.

NEW: "Way Maker"
You are Way Maker, Miracle Worker
Promise Keeper, Light in the darkness
My God, that is who You are
What seems to be the building worship song of the year finds its way into the home studio of David Leonard. The chorus is a reminder of everything God is. He makes a way, He creates miracles, always keeps His promises and lights up every dark corner. Amen! The video, recorded during the COVID-19 global pandemic is a beautiful expression of worship showcasing David's approachable vocals behind a basic click and keys.
CLASSIC: "Great Are You Lord"
You give life, You are love
You bring light to the darkness
You give hope, You restore
Every heart that is broken
David Leonard spent his early career as one half of All Sons & Daughters and penned this new worship classic with fellow member Leslie Jordan and songwriter giant Jason Ingram. Recorded by Michael W. Smith, Casting Crowns, Matt Redman, Kutless and many other artists, "Great Are You Lord" is a chorus that returns us to the greatness of God that heals and gives life when we simply show up and pour out our praise.
Kevin McNeese started NRT in 2002 and has worked in the industry since 1999 in one form or another. He has been a fan of Christian music since 1991.
