Heaven Come Closer is the soundtrack of the revival happening at Gateway Church in Shelbyville, TN, a multi-generational, multi-cultural Tennessee congregation situated on the small town's main thoroughfare of Madison Street and home of Corey Voss & Madison Street Worship.
Corey Voss began leading worship at the church eight years ago, when their congregation was no more than 65 people. Now the church has more than 1,000 members as a revival sparks in the small, rural city. Voss is also no newcomer to songwriting as he has six songs in the CCLI Top 2,000, including hits "Nothing But The Blood," "I Got Saved," and "Praise Your Name." He's co-written alongside industry-leading writers Michael Farren, Lauren Daigle, Paul Baloche, Leslie Jordan, Jared Anderson and Dustin Smith and currently co-wrote the title track on Matt Redman's Let There Be Wonder album.
Below, we take a closer look at one of the new songs from the album, Heaven Come Closer, along with a song from his past.
NEW: "God of Salvation (I Still Believe)"
You don't miss a detail when it all seems scattered
For Your ways are higher still
You are never shaken when my mind is anxious
For Your thoughts are higher still
If there was a lyric for this current time that we're in, that's it. When the world around us is in chaos, God is still in the details and He will reveal Himself in those if we can pause and focus on Him and His ways. God can make anything happen and will do all that He promised. And it will be good, cause You are always good
TIMELESS: "God Who Moves the Mountains"
He is not surprised, he surrounds
He can not be stopped, he astounds
He is drawing near, hear the sound
oh hear the sound
Only three years old, this song is already a classic in the worship cannon. I think we forget how much God is in control and how big He is. He hasn't left us during this time. He knew all this was coming and He has so much for us if we can just lean into the uncomfortable and unknown. Allow Him to move those mountains in your life! You say, trust, and then You prove
