For the past few years, making music videos with neon lights has become a growing trend. It's a cool way that artists and bands are taking their music videos to the next level. It gives a music video a nice vibe. And, let's face it, it's really just plain fun.
We picked out 10 of our favorite neon music videos to share with you that we think you're going to love.
Stars Go Dim - "I Look To You (feat. Social Club Misfits)"
This neon music video from Chris Cleveland of Stars Go Dim is one of my personal favorites. It fits this song so well, and the various different uses of neon really highlight the emotions and lyrics in the song. In the song's second verse, the neon lights are turned off when Chris sings, "In the valley of the shadow I will have no fear/In the moment of my weakness I can feel you here/You're always close to me/With everything I need." It's a super cool music video. It's definitely one of the best ones out there.
Steffany Gretzinger - "BLACKOUT"
Steffany's song, "BLACKOUT," speaks of how in a dark world we should be a light. So, naturally, this video is filled with neon lights. From the classic pink and blue lights to glowing bright white lights, this video is completely decked out in neon. The video is both creative, original, and definitely well produced. It has gained the attention of over two million people since it was released in 2018. Many fans and music enthusiasts have been extremely impressed by the video.
Rivers & Robots - "Overflow"
Worship band Rivers & Robots have a sound that's similar to pop band Land of Color, especially in this song, "Overflow." It's a well-written song. And, the music video is definitely modern and unique. The video begins in a room with orange neon lights and finishes with outdoor scenes. There are a lot of different lighting features in this video, from Edison lights to dark red lights.
Caitie Hurst - "Walkin' On The Water"
This neon music video is super cool. The video's background features white neon lights and shows Caitie walking in a small, shallow pool of water. The video fits the song so perfectly. And, I love that it's from a female artist. Lately, there haven't been many solo female artists releasing videos, so this one really is special. Definitely, a must-see.
Hawk Nelson - "Never Let You Down (feat. Hunter and Tara)"
It's been a while since we've heard any new music from Hawk Nelson. But, I love reminiscing and listening to their old music, so I thought I would take it back to 2018 and showcase this neon music video. Back to when Hawk released their album, Miracles. This video is completely filled with neon lights of all different colors. From green lights to blue lights to purple lights, this video is incredible and extremely well produced. It's my all-time favorite music video, hands down.
Elevation Worship - "With You (Paradoxology)"
"With You (Paradoxology)" is such a beautiful worship song. Its video is lit with light orange and pink neon lights and fades out with dark red lights. I love the look of this video. The soft pastels are gorgeous and compliment the rest of the video really well. It stands out from the other videos because it has calmer, more mellow lighting. I've never seen a worship song feature neon lights in a music video. And, I think it worked really well. More worship bands should make music videos like this one.
WHATUPRG - "Glory (feat. GAWVI)"
This music video is also different from others because it shows neon lights outside of storefronts, rather than just inside of a building. The chorus of the song sings, "Gloria, Gloria a Dios," which translates into English as "Glory, glory to God." It's a fun, peppy rap song that features GAWVI alongside WHATUPRG.
The Young Escape - "Good Life"
The Young Escape is a talented band, made up of siblings McKenna, Kyrsten, Luke, and Ryan Johns. All of their music videos have a classic black and white format, and it's no different with this one. Their video features white neon lights in a dark room, which gives the video an awesome vibe.
Dan Bremnes - "Thunder"
"Thunder" is a song that will make you want to dance. The song is filled with enthusiasm. In the video, there's orange and blue flashing neon lights, which, combined, will put anyone into a good mood. I've loved this song and music video since it came out last year. I think you'll love it, too.
The Protest - "What Else You Got"
Last, but not least, The Protest also released a neon music video. Rock songs are perfect to use for music videos that feature neon lights. This video is similar to The Young Escape's neon video: the band is in a dark room with those white neon lights that we all love. "What Else You Got" is a great conclusion to our neon music video collection.
