In an effort to help you not go cross-eyed and spend your time wisely on the best each and every week, our editorial staff highlights the singles you can't miss in the rising oceans of new music.
Here are the "can't miss" singles released this week.
LEDGER "Completely"
LEDGER had an amazing year with the release of her debut solo EP, which was highly enjoyed by fans and scored her several nominations in the We Love Awards. Skillet drummer, Jen Ledger, continues to shine with her amazing new single. "Completely" takes a pop/worship direction different than her previous EP. "The song is a very simple celebration of the most awesome thing in the entire world: the love of our God!" explains LEDGER. Jen's soaring vocals and bold lyrics of praise for God's unfailing love creates a song that's one of her best songs yet!

Stars Go Dim "It's Gonna Get Better"
Chris Cleveland continues to build to his upcoming May release on Curb Records. After six songs in 2018 that culminated in the Better EP which received a nomination for EP of the Year in the We Love Christian Music Awards, "It's Gonna Get Better" is the first new music of 2019 and continues to solidify SGD as one of the best pop acts in Christian music. Chris' falsetto voice is unmatched and vertically focused lyrics offering encouragement in any situation is much needed. "This is an anthem for anyone stuck in a place of not being okay, but knowing it's okay to feel that way and it will get better." Keep the great music coming, Chris! –Kevin McNeese, NRT Founder
GAWVI "Hope You Say"
This past Monday, Reach Records artist/producer GAWVI released a new Valentine-themed single “Hope You Say.” GAWVI’s desire for the track is, “I hope you give love a chance again.” He’s fresh off a full-length release from October 2018 titled, Panorama acclaimed as one of the year’s best releases. Next month, he joins the entire roster of Reach on the “Unashamed Forever Tour” beginning on March 14 in Washington, D.C.
In honor of the Valentine’s holiday, GAWVI eases the tempo of the single putting off more of a melodic vibe. The chill tone promotes love, a godly love that can save, heal, and restore. The track explores the artist’s wide range in ability and taste slowing things down whereas most tracks GAWVI associates with relate to more of an EDM sound. Overall, it's a pleasing switch and blends well with the theme of the week.

Social Club Misfits "Everytime"
Today, Social Club Misfits released the first single (with video) off their upcoming third project after rebranding and signing with Capitol Christian Music Group titled Mood. The single, “Everytime,” celebrates the high-level energy the dynamic duo brings to their music and stage presence. Also, Marty and Fern released related tour merch today for the “Big Mood Tour” kicking off on March 14 in Miami, Florida. You can purchase the new line of merch or tour tickets at socialclubmisfits.com.
The single begins with a relatable hook fans can relate to and easily repeat in their car while listening. I’m a sucker for beat switch-ups in hip-hop and at the 2:52 mark, the track transitions seamlessly finishing with an added kick. Overall, the track sets the tone for a promising EP dropping this spring. –Joshua Galla, NRT Contributor
Neon Feather feat. Matty Mullins "Come To Life"
Since signing to Centricity Music last year, Neon Feather has been releasing amazing new singles with some of the best-underrated vocalists in Christian music. Neon Feather continues with his high quality produced electro beats and sounds welcoming Memphis May Fire's frontman and solo pop artist, Matty Mullins. Matty's crystal clear vocals shine strongly in this pop/dance song of life with Jesus alive in us. “The idea for the chorus actually started as a potential Christmas song," explains Neon, "but I quickly knew I wanted it to be more than that. I brought it to Matty, and we had a great day fleshing out the verses. His voice is just so life-giving and perfect for the song.” "Come To Life" is so far one of the best songs of 2019 yet (and my current favorite of this year)! –Bradden Ford, NRT Contributor
Justin Gambino "Going Under"
Justin Gambino has released his new song with a strong and meaningful message. "Going Under" with its calm building sound and hopeful message provides listeners with the hope that God is with us even when we feel lost and will never leave us. Justin's strong vocals add to the personal feel and impact of this new song. As Justin said: "It’s my prayer that this song is a reminder for those that feel as if they are drowning, to hold on tight and to know that Jesus will not leave them. That we are never too deep or too far from His reach."

Shonlock "Gnarly"
Shonlock released this quirky pop love song on Valentine's Day that he wrote for his wife, using the word "Gnarly" to explain her and their crazy relationship! I'm thankful we had most of the lyrics posted (and some are still missing) as they are about as hard to understand as the subject of the song (it's true), but to sum up the message: Shon loves his girl and it's a harmless, fun track that celebrates marriage in all the crazy highs and lows. Now that, I can understand. –Kevin McNeese, NRT Founder
The Cashmans "City Of God"
Husband and wife singer/songwriting duo, The Cashmans, dropped the title track and new music video for their upcoming March 1st release, City Of God. The video was filmed at The Garden of the Gods National Park in includes footage captured during their ministry travels and touring. The single is a fantastic introduction to the duo who captures worshipful stylings, passionate performance and just a touch of Nashville country vibe. –Kevin McNeese, NRT Founder
