Recently, singer/songwriter Eowyn released her sixth album, Just Believe. She hasn't released an album in a few years, but she's back with 12 new solid tracks, that'll give you a new passion for God. Eoywn recently took some time to give us some insight on each new song: inspirations, struggles, and more.

1. "Hero"

"Hero" starts off the album with a unique sound and also introduces a very special guest vocalist, Tom Bailey, from London. I cannot say enough how excited I am to have him on this record. I chose to start with this song, because it introduces a hardship we all face in this world--doubt. Christians are supposed to be strong all the time, right? Of course not. I don't know about you, but I struggle with insecurities and doubt quite often. But, what never changes is that my Savior is always my hero in these scenarios. This song is asking him to show up and be that hero in every situation. Whatever you are facing today, please know that you can turn to Him. He will find you right where you are and save you.

Verse 2 & Chorus: "By your beautiful grace, you heard my cry for help/ Oh, you found me, you found me in the dark/Place your hands in mine/Lead the way this time/Make me stronger, make me conquer what I can't resist/Come and be my hero now/Come and be my hero now."

2. "Drenched"

I call "Drenched" my unique worship song. It's not a traditional piece a congregation might sing in a church service. But, every time I sing it, I feel God moving in my life. "Drenched" was the very first song I wrote for Just Believe. And, honestly, the song changed the album from becoming an "acoustic" collection to a more of a pop and alternative album. When I wrote the lyrics for "Drenched," I was at a point where I was praying that God would drench me with His presence, because I knew writing new music would be pointless, without His presence in these songs. Isn't that so true in every aspect of our lives? When God shows up, He radically changes things. I'm so thankful for my faithful Savior who continually moves and shows up in unexpected and beautiful ways in my life. I pray you feel his presence today like never before.

Chorus: "Just move, drench me with your presence/Drench me with your truth and move/Drench me with your love and fill me till I can't lose/All I want is you."

3. "Who Says?"

"Who Says?" is based around my favorite scripture, Philippians 4:13. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." It's really been a life verse for me. Any time I've doubted I could do something, I remembered that in my own strength, I can't. But, if God was calling me to do it, I could. It's a great reminder that if God is for us, who can be against us? With him, all things are possible. It really goes back to the main focus of what this whole album is about--believing in Jesus. Sure, you may be able to do things on your own. But, when God is involved, He makes a way when there seems to be no way. I'm so thankful that He made a way for me to do this album, my 6th. Who says you can't accomplish things when God is in it?

Chorus: "Who says the rope is ending?/You and I, we're just beginning/Who says the glass is empty?/Pouring out your love's unending/You and I, we can do all things cause you say we can."

4. "Believe"

I told my producer, Travis Wyrick, when we began this album that I wanted a piano ballad. The piano has always been my favorite instrument. I was so blessed to have an amazing musician, Julius Blue, send me the music track for this song. From the moment I heard it, I knew this song was special. The lyrics flowed freely that day as the rain poured outside my home. I began to cry when I thought about all my friends who were struggling with marital hardships, molestations, abuse, and health issues. Those are the times when doubt sets in the most and takes its hold. Those are the times when it's hard to understand why God would allow such a thing to happen. But you see, we have a loving Savior who sees it all. He's with us every step of the way, every step of the day, no matter what we're facing. He always has what we need in mind. Don't ever let doubt overshadow that belief. Believe that God has you in his hands and your miracle is ahead.

Pre-chorus/Chorus: "But when I begin to fall apart/I'll remember you loved me from the start/And I'll just believe that what I need is always what you said/ And I'll just believe/I'll wait and see/my miracles ahead."

5. "Safety"

Traditionally, most of us would associate having a feeling of safety as being a good thing and something highly sought after. If we have safety, we have a form of protection, right? But, the intent of this song's lyrics was asking God to break our safety. Why? Without a doubt, God offers a wonderful line of safety and defense. But, the safety I'm referring to is the walls we often put around ourselves. Our own emotional walls or desires for comfort actually can become our hindrance. We get so "comfortable" or safe with staying stagnant that we stop believing God can give us more. I feel my desire for comfort has sometimes held me back from taking leaps of faith. My prayer is that we not be afraid to leap into the promises of God, but instead that we allow Him to break our safety.

Chorus: "You're breaking my safety/Tearing a part the walls I've built/You're breaking my safety/Pushing me out, I'm breaking free."
Bridge: You give me faith to run/Faith to cry and faith to see/You give me faith to love/Faith to try, and faith to leap/Now I believe."

6. "Set Free"

This song is one of my absolute favorites on Just Believe. Lyrically, I love it because it's about the wonderful grace given to us by our Savior. One of my favorite lines sums the meaning up perfectly: "You made a way, my debt is paid/I won't let my past become my present tense." When we ask God to come into our lives, our sin is washed away and we're set free. This doesn't mean that we'll never have struggles again, but it does mean that we are loved and forgiven. We don't have to hang on to our pasts. We are saved by the grace of God. I also love this song because it gave me a chance to collaborate with my good friend, Nikko Custodio, both lyrically and musically. We both co-wrote this song. And, he contributed his musical talents by singing and rapping in the song's bridge. I've always wanted a rap in one of my songs. And, it finally happened. He's the worship leader at my church, Expectation Church. And, I get to sing with him on the worship team every month. I think people are going to love his vocals and, most importantly, the meaning behind this song.

Chorus: "I'm free, I know, now I'm set free."

7. "Powerful"

"Powerful" almost didn't make the album. Even though the music for this track was written early on by musician Colton Carnley, I just couldn't make up my mind on the lyrical content. At 10:00 pm, the night before my last studio day, I prayed in my hotel room and asked God if this song was meant to be on the album. I felt like I was supposed to read some of the story of Job. A few lines really stood out to me: "Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation? Tell me, if you understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely, you know. Who stretched a measuring line across it? - Job 38:4 God was making sure Job understood how powerful and all-knowing He was. God, not Job. In that moment, I felt God wanted me to remember and believe in His power. This song became my renewed realization of that power. I hope it becomes the same reminder to each of you.

Verse 1 & Chorus: "Who can comprehend the earths expanse/It's dimensions that you clearly set/You remind me/Who cut channels for the pounding rains/Set the clouds or showed the dawn it's place/You remind me/You're powerful in all your ways/In a whisper you bring freedom/You're powerful in all you've made/By your hand my fears defeated."

8. "Worth"

This song is meant to encourage others to never doubt their value or worth in God's eyes. That's often easier said than done. Far too often, we base our value on what other people say about us instead. When I began putting this album together, all my insecurities of the past started to rise up. I began to question what people would think of the change of style in my music. Would people still want to hear what I had to say? Had I gotten too old to do an album? When I was writing this song, I realized I was asking all the wrong questions, instead of the right ones. What did God think of me? What has He called me to do at this time in my life? Was I saying what He wanted me to say? As I sat there, the lyrics began to pour out. "My worth doesn't rest in their hands and it never hinged upon this world's demands/Sometimes I say too much/Sometimes I fall apart/But you say I'm worth it all." I want to encourage listeners that they're worth everything to God. He loves us dearly and has blessed us with a wonderful purpose. Let these lyrics stir in you, a sense of freedom in that fact. What God thinks of you is far more important than anything else. And, he absolutely adores you.

Chorus: "Your love, it pushes the fray/And all the little things that stood in my way/You take the good, the bad, but always you stay/Cause your worth so much to me."

9. "Crazy"

Writing this track was a dream come true, because I got to work with a close friend and also an extremely talented musician and producer, Jeremy Holderfield, from Seventh Day Slumber. I told him I wanted more of an acoustic worship song and, after hearing the track he produced, I knew it had to be on the album. The lyrics are about the crazy love of God. Not crazy in the psycho kind of meaning, but crazy in the unfathomable meaning. Regardless of anything we do, we have a Savior who absolutely adores us. We all know how fast we are as a human race to throw away a friendship or cut off a family relationship based on an argument or a difference of opinion. But, God never cuts us off. He's always open-armed, waiting on us to come to him. This song collaboration is words of appreciation for that amazing love.

Verse 1 & Chorus: "Beautifully, faithfully you are my constant, wondrous, glorious, forevermore/You came abandoning royalty, humbling everything, so I could rise/It's crazy how you pursue me when I lose my way/It's crazy how in my weakness, you become my strength."

10. "Fully Alive"

While working on Just Believe, I was asked by the eKids Director at my church if I would write a song for a kids event that we had coming up. Writing for a kids event was definitely something I had never done before, but one of the writers I was working with, Colton Carnley, sent me a track that was perfect for it. It had a fun vibe and was upbeat with a ton of bass. Who doesn't love bass? The event was focused around living fully alive, so I began to think about what that really meant to me. Let's be honest, life can get pretty mundane sometimes–especially when we do the same things day in and day out. I've been there. But, God started to remind me that we're meant to live with purpose. We're meant to honor Him. No matter where He has called us in this season of our lives, we must look for ways to serve Him. Look for the little blessings. Make a difference and live fully alive.

Verse 1: List the possibilities/There's so much that we can be. It's time to claim it/It's time to chase it/Let's start our race, pursue this day/Like fire, ignite and live, fully alive."

11. "Closer"

Have you ever felt like you've been waiting and waiting on an answer from God? Have you ever prayed for something and yet there seems to be no change? I'll admit I've had a few of those moments. I even experienced some when making the album. But, a message from my pastor, David R. Stokes, about the Book of Esther reminded me that we may not always see what God is doing in our lives. But, the fact is that He's always moving. I think so often we quit right before a breakthrough. We bail right before we see the answer. This song is meant to be a declaration statement that we'll believe and keep going regardless of the risk because God told us to.

Chorus: "I'm closer than I've been/The best is coming/I'm closer, I'm all in, reckless abandon/I'm so ready, regardless of the risk/I move closer for such a time as this."

12. "I Want You to Know"

This song is unlike anything I've ever done before lyrically and is meant for anyone in love. I've always wanted to write a love song to my husband, and after writing over 50 songs, I decided it was about time. For this particular album, I felt that not only was God encouraging me to believe, but also my husband was, too. He has always been my biggest cheerleader. These lyrics were meant to be a huge thank you to him. Gosh, I love that man. I have no doubt each person will have someone come to mind from their own life when listening to it.

Verse 1 and Chorus: "Even at my worst you always say how much I matter/With you, I feel secure, my futures bright, it's so much better/And when things get tough, you take it all with ease/I can't say enough just what you mean to me/I want you to know how much I love you/I want you to stay/I'm lost without you/Oh I can not deny it/I want you to know you're my prayer that came through."
