Caitie Hurst is one of the newest signees to the increasingly high-profile slate of Centricity Music (Lauren Daigle, Jordan Feliz). While you dig into her new EP, How Could I Be Silent, check out some interesting "Did You Know?" details on her provided by the Centricity website. Turns out she's probably a lot like you.
Education
Caitie's hometown is Hendersonville, TN. What did she study in college? What didn't she study in college? She changed majors about five times—starting in Music Business at Belmont University. And then she actually ended up dropping out of college after her junior year ending at Liberty University, studying Biblical & theological studies.
Favorites
Caitie isn't too fond of cats of chocolate, but she's a die-hard dog person and a big fan of vanilla. And coffee! She's also an extroverted morning person. And if you're a fan of The Greatest Showman, Stranger Things, or conspiracy documentaries, you can count Caitie Hurst as a kindred spirit.
Music
Caitie still goes old school for jamming to music in the car. Not only does she still have a cassette player, but you'll usually find her listening to Journey. (Or the throwback nostalgia of the Stranger Things soundtrack. Because 80's.) Caitie also has met musical heroes. Notably, she met Taylor Swift outside a Walmart as a teenager and got to chat (okay, fangirl) with her for a few minutes.
Books
Want to read like Caitie? Check out Holy Roar by Darren Whitehead and Chris Tomlin, Forgotten God by Francis Chan, My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers, or The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis.
First Concert
Like you, Caitie also had a first concert experience: The Jonas Brothers. But her favorite band is Paramore, who she's seen live 3 times.
Travel
Caitie has traveled all over the world, including Europe, Haiti, and Thailand. But her favorite place is Jamala Beach outside Santa Barbara, CA. Or the Crèma in Nashville.
Best Gift
Caitie counts the best gift she's ever received as her first longboard. Tragically, not only did an injury prevent her from riding it for several months, but a few months after she could ride it, it was stolen!!! But it's memory lives on as the best gift she's ever received.
Hobbies
Caitie used to want to be either an artist, skater, or surfer. Becoming a good surfer and cruising on waves down in Hawaii is still a bucket list goal for her. She's torn her ACL twice, once while rock climbing and the other while leading worship. Now that's power praise!
