A voice known for leading the Church in anthemic worship for over a decade now, Phil Wickham is an artist whose reputation precedes him in the best way. With each new album, Phil gives fans some new variation of sonic elements to look forward to, with the promise of lyrical depth that will aid churches in making declarations of worship for years to come.

Leading up to the August release of his brand new project, Living Hope, Phil has already unveiled several singles from the album, all accompanied by eye-catching videos. With the album available for pre-order now, listeners have access to four new tracks: “Living Hope,” “Till I Found You,” “Great Things” and “Song In My Soul.” Check out the videos below to get a taste of the upcoming album and hear a bit of Phil’s heart behind each song.

“Song In My Soul” feat. Hollyn
"There was a time where I wasn't sure if this was going to fit on my record. It's a great song, but it's got more of a gospel, funky thing to it, so musically, I didn't know if it was going to feel like a black sheep. But as we started working on it, my producer and I thought that we should bring a female vocalist on it. Then someone from the label said that too. So, we racked our brains a bit and wanted to see who was available. We made a wish list and Hollyn was at the top of that list. She's got this incredible voice and knew she could nail this vibe. She showed up and just killed it. This song is like the smile in the middle of the record. "Song In My Soul," is just a sing-a-long, clap-a-long track on this record."

“Living Hope”
“When our future was death, Jesus came in and brought us life. He brought this idea of ‘living hope’ into our souls. We wanted to talk about the resurrection in the third verse [of this song]. I think we wrote it like five or six times, and finally, we landed on this idea: ‘Then came the morning that sealed the promise / Your buried body began to breathe / out of the silence, the Roaring Lion declared the grave has no claim on me.’ I remember after writing that through text message, there was like a moment of silence, then he [Brian Johnson] was like ‘dude, this is amazing.’ We both love this song, and we hope anyone who hears it can cling to it as well.”

“Till I Found You”
“One Wednesday night I was leading worship, and at the end of these services, sometimes the pastor will give an opportunity to respond to the Gospel. Sometimes it’s four people, sometimes it’s fifteen, but I just remember it was more than usual. A flood of people started walking forward and it was an emotional moment. I just remember getting hit with the beauty of people finding God for the first time. I remember looking in front of me and seeing this guy that looked like he was a pretty tough dude, tattoos, and everything. He wasn’t the normal dude you’d see doing this, but when I looked at his face, there were tears and a flood of emotion and joy and peace and repentance. It was a beautiful moment. When I was driving home from that service, this whole song just started flowing out from beginning to end.”

“Great Things”
“This song was actually born out of necessity. I’ve been leading worship regularly at a church called Harvest Christian Fellowship for about two years now. It’s been grounding and life-giving, but what I found is that when we were choosing setlists, for the first song of the set we wanted to start with an upbeat song, and we only had four or five to choose from that our church knew. We just thought we needed more upbeat songs that were easy to catch on to, but still had something special and rich in them. So I sat down over the next couple weeks and cornered this scripture in Psalms. I came across this idea of people in the Bible worshipping God for doing great things. With that anchor, I came up with this chorus: “Oh Hero of Heaven, You conquered the grave / You free every captive and break every chain / Oh God, You have done great things.’”
