Elevation Worship only has released albums nationally and internationally for six years, yet their songs already have made a huge impact on congregations and individual lives.
Quickly coming alongside powerhouse movements such as Hillsong, Bethel and Passion, the worship outpouring of Steven Furtick's Elevation Church in North Carolina has been prolific and poignant in their yearly release of new worship music--songs that regularly find their way onto Sunday morning set lists.
With the release of their sixth major project, There Is A Cloud, we asked Elevation Worship, collectively, to share a little bit about each of the 14 new songs. Check them out, and then pick up the album here.
1. "There Is A Cloud"
"There Is A Cloud" is a song about trust. A season of drought is inevitable, but even when we don't see the evidence of rain, we can still know that God is faithful. When He speaks, it's not a matter of IF it will come to pass, but WHEN.
2. "Overcome"
"Overcome" is about declaring that no matter what we may face, we cannot be moved or deterred because Christ is in us. He rose from the grave, He defeated death on the cross, so we are no longer bound by fear. When we face trouble, we can go back to that empty grave and remember we have already overcome through Christ.
3. "Do It Again" & 4. "Do It Again (Reprise)"
"Do It Again" is a song that challenges us to trust in the faithfulness of God. When our faith is being put to the test, we shouldn't focus on what hasn't happened -- we focus on whathas happened. If you've seen God do it before, He can do it again. Obedience is our responsibility; the outcome is God's.
5. "Fullness"
"Fullness" was written from Acts 2, the moments when God gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit. The gift wasn't just His presence, but also His power, that made it's home in us. It's in that same power found in Acts 2, that we live in and move forward with daily as children of God.
6. "He Is Lord"
"He Is Lord" sings of God's sovereignty and challenges us to look back at our past, remember His faithfulness, and believe He will see us through any circumstance, any season, just like He has in the past. He is Lord over every situation in our life, then and now.
7. "Yours"
"Yours" is a song written from Revelation 4 and 5, where we get a picture of the worship that revolves around the throne of God for all eternity. "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!" - Revelation 5:11 We serve a matchless, worthy God!
8. "Uncontainable Love"
"Uncontainable Love" is a praise song about God's unending love for His people. Nothing we can do will ever separate His love from us -- it overflows, never running out.
9. "Forever I Run"
Psalm 73 says "my flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." "Forever I Run" declares all our hope is in Jesus and without Him we are nothing.
10. "None"
"None" declares that God stands alone in His glory. There is nothing in the world that can even begin to compare to His greatness, His might, His worth. He stood alone in the beginning, and He'll stand alone in the end. He transcends everything.
11. "Grateful"
"Grateful" is a song of thanksgiving. We can never say "thank you" enough for all God has done for us and this is a song refocusing our hearts on gratitude!
12. "Mighty Cross"
"Mighty Cross" takes us back to Jesus's death on the cross for us and the power the cross has on our lives - setting us free, making a way for us to be alive in Him. We are victorious in Him because He was victorious over death.
13. "Oh Sing"
"Oh Sing" is a song of praise for who God is and what He's done for us. This is a joyous song, declaring that God is worthy of all our worship!
14. "Here in the Presence"
"Here In the Presence" reminds us that there is freedom, hope, joy, and peace in the presence of Jesus. When we worship Him, when we acknowledge His presence, Jesus can touch our lives in an instant and we find healing and rest. We're never alone in this world and He holds the healing we need.
Elevation Worship is the worship team of Elevation Church, based out of Charlotte, NC. Led by Pastor Steven Furtick, the church was formed in 2006 with a vision to see people far from God raised to life in Christ.
