Vertical Church Band has quickly emerged as an important voice in the Church, providing passionate worship songs that have found their way into Sunday services from coast to coast. But even as they've released their latest collection of songs, Frontiers, people are still getting to know them. So NRT's Caitlin Lassiter will get you up to speed with a list of Vertical Church Band's five biggest songs that you (probably) know.
1. "Not For A Moment (After All)"
With a voice so bold and passionate that it often can bring you to tears, Meredith Andrews (http://www.newreleasetoday.com/artistdetail.php?artist_id=1179) leads this beautiful worship moment, praising God for His unending faithfulness through every season of life. Though this song soon became a staple in Meredith's solo work, it originated from Vertical Church Band and continues to bless the hearts of many with it's moving lyrics of His sovereignty, goodness, and constant personality : "I was held in Your arms / carried for a thousand miles to show not for a moment did You forsake me."
2. "Open Up The Heavens"
One of the more popular peppy tracks we get from Vertical Church Band, "Open Up The Heavens" is a longing for more of God. The song quickly gets people on their feet, praising God for His glory and swept up in a time of powerful worship. A guitar-driven cut filled with a prayer, just one listen and you'll understand why this song garnered so much love.
3. "Spirit Of The Living God"
One of the most holy worship moments I've ever heard, "Spirit Of The Living God" is yet another passionate plea to see God move. Meredith leads with an authentic desire for the Spirit of God to change the atmosphere, making this song an honest heart-cry from a group of dedicated worshippers: "When You speak, when You move, when You do what only You can do / it changes us."
4. "Strong God"
"Father to the fatherless / defender of the weak / freedom for the prisoner," this powerful cut begins. Meredith Andrews once again leads the moment with a voice so soft and yet so strong as what begins as a tender time of worship soon crescendos into a bold proclamation of the strength of our God.
5. "Lamb Of God"
One of the most lyrically strong Vertical Church Band tracks to date, "Lamb Of God" from their last project Church Songs, is a beautiful addition to any worship set. "The Lamb of God in my place / Your blood poured out / my sin erased / it was my death You died / I am raised to life / hallelujah, the Lamb of God," the powerful anthem sings out.
