Maybe you've overdone it on the John Williams-composed Star Wars film soundtracks. Maybe you're just not in a classical mood. Maybe you don't want to take your chances with secular songs dedicated to a galaxy far, far away.

This #StarWarsDay (May the Fourth... be with you) we've got your back.

I put together a playlist of songs from Christian artists that either directly mention Star Wars in their lyrics, or their song titles lend themselves to this most auspicious of days.

Listen to the playlist below, and then learn a little more about each song after the jump.

"Invader Pt. 1" by Rapture Ruckus: Get it? In Vader? Despite the cheesy stretch to relate the title to a certain villain, that Sith lord is actually mentioned by name in this track: "There is none greater, galaxy Creator / Leaves Darth Vader gasping on his respirator / Floating through space cooking Wookies with his lightsaber." There's also a fantastic lightsaber sound effect used.

"Science Fiction" by Jonathan Thulin: The title track of this powerhouse singer's most recent album talks about science fiction throughout the song, but directly references a character from the film as he says he was "flyin' Han Solo."

"Empire" by Charmaine: She sings "I'm gonna love you like an empire," and we think that's probably something Darth Vader would sing on the Death Star talent show night.

"Paisano's Wylin" by Andy Mineo: The song really isn't about Star Wars, but it's a lot of fun, and there's a definite standout moment in the song when Andy does a wookiee noise... "like I'm Chewbacca." More than appropriate.

"Han Solo" by J. Han: Rapper J. Han--known as one member of the hip-hop troupe Amp--named his latest solo project "Han Solo," and the title track includes this play on his name that invokes the famous smuggler.

"Galaxy" by Nine Lashes: It's a really fun track and one of the newest on this list. And it's included because of its relationship to the title of the next song on the list. It does stand on its own, though, singing, "Let's get carried away / Find our way to the galaxy / Follow the mystery.

"Far, Far Away" by Five Iron Frenzy: See what we did there? "Galaxy"... "Far, Far Away"? So yeah, that's why this older song from FIF made the list. The song itself has nothing to do with Star Wars, but it's a great throwback. Enjoy!

"Jet Pack Kicks" by Family Force 5: This party song on Time Stands Still is all about shoes that can fly, with the second verse referencing both Star Wars and Back to the Future: "Luke Skywalkin', Marty McFlyin'." They also sing, "Death Stars in your face.

"Nerd Out (12 Point Power Sword)" by Heath McNease: This little known song from his record The Gun Show is a full-on embrace of "nerd culture" where he says, "They call me Obi-Wan, act like you know me, son." McNease (no relation to NRT's Founder) also references Star Trek, Power Rangers and Harry Potter in this song, among other obsessions.

"Mission to Mars" by PRo feat. PK: The artist now known as Derek Minor raps about space and relates the Gospel to a mission to Mars, at one point spitting, "The stars have war / 'Til they get crushed by Darth Vader." It's a little disturbing, though, thinking of Vader in our own solar system.

"Our Wars" by The Insyderz: This throwback tune by another 1990s-era Christian ska band is almost entirely devoted to Star Wars, with abounding references to the Dark Side, lightsabers, the Death Star, carbonite, and even Boba Fett. The highlight is the growly chorus that declares, "Jesus Christ, my Jedi master / Comin' at you like a laser blaster" before devolving into the Cantina song from A New Hope.

"A New Hope" by Five Iron Frenzy: Speaking of A New Hope, FIF makes its second appearance by merit of the song's title, but if you're dressed in your X-wing pilot attire, I think it would work well to be singing, "A new hope / Where is your freedom / Cast off your burdens.

"Simple Man" by Shonlock: This is a funky, fun song to listen to, and the fact that there's a brief reference to the Masked One--"heart hate harder than Darth Vader"--makes it a shoo-in for the day.

"Shadow of Def" by Brave Saint Saturn: The self-described "Space Rock" band brings a song that, lyrically speaking, looks like it would fit as a hip-hop song, but its delivery is extremely (and hilariously) mismatched. The tongue-in-cheek presentation of angry "gangstas" says, "I'll cut off your hand just like Darth Vader."

"Rebel Intro" by Lecrae: A definite wayback track from Christian rap's frontman is a big shout-out to the rebels out there--people rebelling against the prevailing culture and the ways of the world, who emulate the ultimate rebel, Jesus. "Welcome to the Rebel-ution," Crae declares.

"Five" by Daily Planet: The 2002 album from this Dave Matthews-sounding group yielded one big radio single back then, "Hero." On "Five," the band sings about how when they get to Heaven, they want to be a five year old forever: "There is nothing I can't do when I have on my underoos / Just like Luke Skywalker." We weren't aware Luke possessed such attire.

"Space Cadet" by After Edmund: "Stormtroopers never live forever," sings After Edmund frontman Mitch Parks in this poetic and dreamy alternative rock number.

"Galaxies Collide" by Eleventyseven: This electro-pop group had a LOT of space-themed songs during their tenure, and this one is a lot of fun and catchy. No overt Star Wars lyrics here, but lots of references to galaxies. And, as you know, those are important to the Star Wars universe.

"Supertones Strike Back" by the O.C. Supertones: OK, we're starting to see a disproportionate number of 1990s-era ska bands on this list. Perhaps it's worth looking into to see if ska and Star Wars are irrevocably linked. This song made it because of the title. What's crazier than the Empire striking back? You'll hear for yourself.

"Empires" by Hillsong UNITED: Well, are you a little spaced out? Need a palate cleanser for your spirit? This introspective worship tune from those Aussies is what the doctor ordered. And they even sing about a GOOD empire. But we had to include it given the name of their new album and title track.

"Mr. Roboto" (Grapishsoda Remix) by Rapture Ruckus: Droids are drastically underrepresented in Christian music, and that's a problem we'll have to address later. For now, picture this song about an android named Mr. Roboto as one of C-3PO's protocol droid cousins. It's fun.

"Evil Genius" by Eleventyseven: They're back. And this time, Eleventyseven has a direct reference. Matt Langston sings about being invited to a dance, but apparently it fell through, because he sings, "Yeah I should've known / I'd end up at home / Watching my Star Wars box trilogy." We're hoping he means the original trilogy.

"Closer to the Sun" (Unikron Remix) by SHINEBRIGHT: No Star Wars references here, but the remix's futuristic sounds combined with Emily Fertig's dreamy vocals and the distance to a solar mass serving as the song's subject matter makes for a perfect May the Fourth tune.

"Speed of Light" by Young Noah: Likely the newest track on this playlist, we finally get something referencing the velocity at which the Millennium Falcon travels. It's also really catchy, well produced and inspirational: "Blasting to the stars, high up in the heavens / What you have for me don't seem that far / Yes, it's right there within my reach.

"Only Hope" by Switchfoot: Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi; you're my only hope. We end things on this playlist on a serious note, but if you can picture it serving as an emotional ballad in some Star Wars musical, sung by Princess Leia (rather than a key part of Mandy Moore's tearjerker, A Walk to Remember), it's actually quite amusing!

What do you think? Any songs that should've made the list?
