Editor's Note: We're exceptionally fortunate to get some WE LOVE AWARDS perspective from Emily Fertig, frontwoman of the BEC Recordings band SHINEBRIGHT. The following are her thoughts on the various nominees.

Album of the Year is a weighty category--one of the biggest in any awards. There is no genre, no artist type; just excellence. This award combines all kinds of artists in all different categories to choose the best of the best full-length releases of 2015. Check out why we think these albums are so deserving.

Amanda Cook, Brave New World
You may know Amanda Cook from her smash worship anthem "You Make Me Brave" as part of Bethel Worship. Since then, we've all been waiting anxiously for her solo album, and it did not disappoint. Hailing from the Bethel Music camp, Brave New World takes the listener on a pilgrimage of joy, sorrows, doubt and faith. It's real and feels like a breath of fresh air in an environment of endless worship tunes. Songs like "Never See the End" and "Pieces" are sure to be the sung in modern church services all over the country in no time. This album is a true masterpiece--the perfect combination of heart, corporate singability and art.

Why it could win: Brave New World is a game-changer for worship music. Amanda seamlessly brings poetic lyrics of faith, mixed with beautiful sweeping soundscapes that makes this album so refreshing. The "You Make Me Brave" vocalist has established herself as a songwriter and with the backing of Bethel Music, it's clear that Brave New World is worthy of its Album of the Year nomination and has a very fair chance of winning, as long as Amanda's fans show up.

Hawk Nelson, Diamonds
The Jon Steingard-fronted Hawk Nelson continues to keep us hooked with their most recent album, Diamonds. This seventh studio album from them solidifies their staying power and fully showcases the band's transition from punk rock to adult contemporary pop. "Drops in the Ocean" shines the brightest on their latest effort, a redemptive and powerful tune that had a great impact at Christian radio. The title track got placement on American Idol and there are surely more accolades to come. "Diamonds" is clearly full of gems.

Why it could win: Hawk Nelson is a name that most people know, that recognition alone will help them garner votes. The band also has a loyal following due to their longevity and to their relentless touring schedule. Nine weeks at number one on radio with "Drops in the Ocean" and a huge tour with the Newsboys at the end last year definitely won't hurt their chances of taking home the gold.

Hillsong UNITED, Empires
Hillsong UNITED has a very high reputation to uphold. After Zion, which gave us "Relentless", "Scandal of Grace" and--who could forget?--"Oceans," Hillsong UNITED not only upholds their reputation but continues to take us on a sonic journey that expands our view of the worship genre. Zion introduced us to Taya Smith and Empires continues to let her shine along with Joel Houston and many of the voices we know and love. Instrumental experimentation with electronic drumbeats and heavy synths and sampling mixed with traditional elements allow this album to stand out from all its' predecessors. One thing we can count one from Hillsong UNITED is innovative, moving and heartfelt worship that challenges our faith.

Why it could win: Hillsong UNITED has been a juggernaut in worship music for over a decade now. Just about every CCM listener knows many of their songs. Every modern church service sings their choruses over and over. They have a history of moving us with beautiful and authentic corporate songs of faith. Empires is a more artistic approach than their past efforts, but with their following, it's not hard to see how the Aussies could win this one.

Jonathan Thulin, Science Fiction
Jonathan's previous release, The White Room, left everyone awestruck and wanting more. Science Fiction delivers with Jonathan's songwriting chops and vocal prowess fully on display. The pop sensibility of this albums is simply stunning. What also makes this album so special is its' unique collaborations. Have we ever seen an album with this many artists? With features and songwriting credits from Kevin Max, Derek Minor, Rapture Ruckus, Manwell Reyes, Tauren Wells, Charmaine, Moriah Peters, and--full disclosure--myself, the album is diverse but consistent and impossibly addicting to listen to. Jonathan is known for pushing the boundaries in every direction and this trailblazer's recent effort is proof.

Why it could win:
Jonathan Thulin continues to establish himself as a creative force in Christian music. Every track on Science Fiction radiates with quality, from the songwriting, vocals, production and hard hitting lyrics. Jonathan's grassroots fanbase from his hit songs "Dead Come to Life" and "Architecture," along with extensive touring will help rally voters in his favor. Science Fiction set the standard high for faith-based pop music and deserves the recognition for it.

Lauren Daigle, How Can It Be
Seemingly, out of nowhere, Lauren Daigle has appeared and taken CCM by storm this past year. There is a reason why she is winning many awards and has a full schedule of high-profile tours. She continues to wow audiences while bringing them into worship all across the country. With an all-star lineup of songwriters and Lauren's powerhouse vocals, How Can It Be is packed to the brim with quality. It's been a long time since we have been so captivated by such a young singer. She has a unique voice that has soul far beyond her years and a heart of gold.

Why it could win:
Unless you've been asleep or incapacitated this past year, you've heard Lauren Daigle's voice. She has inspired all of us with her convicting and honest songs. Critics and fans alike cannot stop singing her praises. This album is grand slam for Centricity's newcomer/flagship artist. With K-LOVE and Dove awards, and now a Grammy nod under her belt, it's easy to see why Lauren Daigle's debut is nomination-worthy.

Who do you think deserves the nod? Cast your votes now!
