The Christmas music has been pouring in for more than a month, but the NRT Staff hasn't quite switched over to carols just yet. And with plenty of good Christian music still releasing--coupled with a limitless catalog of previously released projects--there's still plenty of non-holiday music to discover this month.
The NRT staff takes you through their picks for the month, and why they're currently vibing on these tunes.

"Rejoice" by Jordan Feliz - One of my favorite new artists of the year is just getting started. His first single, "The River," shot quickly to No. 1, but this song will be another track you won't be able to stop singing in the near future.
"You Are Loved" by Stars Go Dim - The indie pop group recently signed with Fervent Records and will be releasing their debut soon, but this song is on repeat and stands out with a great message of love for all.
"Mercy" by Amanda Cook - We have lost the ability to show mercy to those around us and we, as believers, should strive to follow the example that God gives us daily.

"Forevermore" by Jesus Culture (Oh Snap! It's Luke Remix) - If you haven't heard Jesus Culture's awesome remix project, you're missing out. This Chris Quilala song gets a really fun retelling without losing its worshipful focus.
"From the Ground Up (Bonanza)" by Ryan Stevenson - We've heard Ryan Stevenson get personal before, but this opens up a little more of his backstory growing up in a small town. It's moving, well instrumentated and gives a shout out to Oregon (more on that in a second). His reflective tone shows us a side of Ryan we haven't seen.
"Coming Home (Oregon)" by Mat Kearney - This one's pretty personal for me, as I just moved from Oregon to Idaho, and can relate to a lot of the things Mat's singing in this ode to his home state, especially, "I left my heart in Oregon." Change can be tough!
Mary Nikkel, Associate Editor
"Sayonara" by Disciple - I can't get over the gritty guitar hook, chilling bridge, or the adamant declarations demanding the past stays in the past.
"Mercy's War" by Jon Foreman - This is a new hymn with an old school sound, capturing the essence of the traditional southern spiritual while updating it with clever phrasing.
"Lost in the Lights" by Seventh Day Slumber - Beyond being a really well-built rock song that shows off Seventh Day Slumber's strengths, it's also a really honest and eye-opening take on the dangers of Christian celebrity culture.
"Steady" by for KING & COUNTRY - This is a slightly older pick, but still just as good a year after this album's release-- the simple, desperately-needed truths in this song make it a playlist staple.

"Divine Romance" by Phil Wickham - Phil's voice is insanely unique and just doesn't get old. This song showcases his talent well, and is an instant classic for all Phil fans, and a must-hear for new ones.
"Dear Younger Me" by MercyMe - Bart Millard has an incredible knack for turning life stories into beautiful songs. This one is deeply personal for him, but also touches listeners in a profound way.
"Tell Your Heart To Beat Again" by Danny Gokey - If you're in a season of discouragement and hard days, this is a song you absolutely need to play on repeat.
"Heroes" by Amanda Cook - The lyrics immediately put your heart in a position of worship no matter what your circumstances are, as you declare, "You taught my feet to dance upon disappointment."
Mark Ryan, Staff Writer
"Scapegoats" by Taelor Gray - I wake up to it every morning, for no other reason than my wife isn't annoyed by it. That's a reason to celebrate and put it on my picks list.
"Inheritance" by Jon Foreman - It's a great love ballad about seeking what's important in life: memories not money.
"Psalms 23" by Shane & Shane - Every time those dudes reinvent one of the Psalms it always comes out beautiful. And those harmonies... need i say more?

"Ceasefire" by for KING & COUNTRY - The moment I heard it I was just blown away. It was like a "woah" moment that I haven't had all year. The brothers Smallbone have REALLY leveled up with this one and I am a bit sad it's destined to be tucked away on a deluxe edition. I wouldn't be half surprised if they backtracked and put this on the new album. It's theme of fighting violence and conflict is a relevant one to our time.
"Longer than a Lifetime" by Sanctus Real - It's Matt Hammitt's final song. 'Nuff said. And it's pretty good. It actually feels a lot more like Sanctus Real than anything in the last few albums.
"Say A Prayer" by VERIDIA - This is a powerful and emotional ballad and another success for VERIDIA. Realizing that others may be hurting worse than we are is an important step in maturing.
"Out of my Hands" by Tony Vincent - This "classic pick" is a hooky and very '90s-sounding dance tune, but it's actually a standout track and definitely very well-crafted considering it was from the debut of a teenager. I grew up hearing this and it's themes of surrender are still relevant.
Jonathan Brassington, Staff Writer
"More Like Love" by Ben Rector - I'm drawn to this song because of the honesty and simplicity of the lyrics amidst a complicated world of constant busy schedules and twisted deceptions. It's a personal anthem of loving it out no matter what happens in this world of pain.
"Not to Us" by Nichole Nordeman feat. Plumb - These beautiful female vocals together and the generally worshipful atmosphere really enhances my personal time with Christ.
"This Is The Day" by Josh Wilson - It's a catchy song that includes another one of Wilson's personal app recordings that he includes in the chorus background. It is a great track that reminds us why we live our daily lives for Jesus.
"This Isn't The End" by Owl City - This song really hit an emotional chord with my heart. It puts honest spins on very difficult fatherly issues that I see in kids I work with every day. It breaks your heart, but provides hope for healing. It puts you as close as possible to being in the shoes of a hurting child going through these issues.
"Vendetta" by Andy Mineo - Here's a song that sums up my feelings about the upcoming 2016 presidential elections. This issue, that issue, and another issue, but where does God fit in? The question that often echoes in my mind is: Why would I rather spend hours on social media, listening to the newest music, and catching up on the latest pop culture than watching political or local news? The answer is simply because I find it easier finding Christ through the positive superficialities rather than the negative realities.

"The Right Time" by Disciple - It's pretty much an accurate description of life. Other than that, I can't really pinpoint why. It just does me in every time.
"Cray Button" by Family Force 5 - My kids absolutely love them and, despite this song being a couple years old, they don't stop listening to them. It's kind of forced listening on repeat but hey, it's fun!
"10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord)" by Matt Redman - I love listening to this song mostly because I just miss singing it at church. It takes me back.
