Go Get It by Mary Mary Go Get It by Mary Mary
After listening to this album, I realized it is essentially composed of songs Mary Mary has previous released but the versions here appear to have a different mix. The first part of the album left me a...
For You From You by Dan For You From You by Dan
This release is very worshipful throughout and entirely focused on God and our response to and wonder of Him. Dan has a unique voice that is pleasant to listen to, and the lyrics for this album are very...
The Listening EP by Dan The Listening EP by Dan
A short EP of works from Dan featuring 3 songs in total with the 4th track being a radio edit. I honestly didn't feel that any of the songs on this release really grabbed me or made me want to re-listen...

I really enjoy the unique sound and approach of John's music and the fact that I can't think of who he sounds "like". Overall though, this release didn't catch my attention as much on first listen as "The Medicine" did. I will need to listen to it a little more this week on NRT to see if grows on me. It's definitely great to have Christian artists releasing music that explores new artistic paths.

The Medicine | Posted October-26-2011
I immediately liked the unique sound of John's music. I also liked the fact that I couldn't think of any other artist that he sounded "like". His music struck me as very original and down to earth. This release has a good mix of variety that keeps each song feeling fresh and was one that I added to my collection. My favorite track is "Skeleton Bones".

Lead You To The Cross | Posted October-26-2011
This 6 song EP was released back in mid-2010 and showcases a collection of three songs with full instrumentation and three songs performed a capella. All of the songs are done very well and highlight the Christ focused ministry of the band. The first three songs are included on the bands latest release "The Other Side" but the latter three are not, allowing this EP to still make a great buy for anyone who would like to have more music from the band.

The Other Side | Posted October-26-2011
I enjoyed listening to this new release and found the songs both interesting and enjoyable. The harmonies are well done I and felt this ablum provided a good diversity of tempos. This probably isn't something I would purchase, but did enjoy listening to it.

Alive In You | Posted October-26-2011
It's great to have Christian arists in this genre. I think the lead singer's voice fits very well with this style of music and reminded me at times of Nickleback. I really wanted to like this album, and do enjoy harder rock, but just didn't feel that this particular release connected with me. Its wonderful though and hard to find artists in this musical vein that provide worshipful music that glorifies God. I wish the band the best!

Past the Wishing | Posted October-26-2011
This release struck me with it's diverse musical approach in relation to Sara's other albums over the years. At times this release sounds almost like something from the 70's with a flower-power vibe, at other times it felt had an indie feel overall. Sara is a truly talented artist who is able to craft songs that not only still sound fresh years after they are released but able to blend her vocal skills with multiple musical styles.

Sara's initial major label debut album. It's great when you can go back and listen to something (especially in Christian music) that was released a decade ago and it still sounds fresh, poignant and draws you in. This release really is a classic album in Sara's long musical journey and stands the test of time.

All Right Here | Posted October-26-2011
This was the release where I first heard of Sara Groves. A gift giving to my wife by a Christian friend, I was happy to discover a writer/performer who presented such tender and thought provoking songs. This release is well done and remains a classic in Sara's lineup.

The Other Side Of Something | Posted October-26-2011
Overall this release was much more upbeat than much of Sara's later releases. Not that I would classify any of Sara's albums as boring or depressing, but this album comes across as definitely being different than the distinctive introspective sound she would develop as her career went on. This album is well done and is very well crafted, performed and produced...just like all of Sara's releases.

Overall I didn't feel this release was as strong as some of Sara's other releases, but was still pretty good overall. Featuring songs that lean more towards lullabies, they still ring with Sara's unique sound and musical quality. This release is more difficult to find as it was apparently only released through her website.
