Go Get It by Mary Mary Go Get It by Mary Mary
After listening to this album, I realized it is essentially composed of songs Mary Mary has previous released but the versions here appear to have a different mix. The first part of the album left me a...
For You From You by Dan For You From You by Dan
This release is very worshipful throughout and entirely focused on God and our response to and wonder of Him. Dan has a unique voice that is pleasant to listen to, and the lyrics for this album are very...
The Listening EP by Dan The Listening EP by Dan
A short EP of works from Dan featuring 3 songs in total with the 4th track being a radio edit. I honestly didn't feel that any of the songs on this release really grabbed me or made me want to re-listen...

A Decade of Hope (3-CD Pack) | Posted November-04-2011
This is an amazing 3-CD set featuring three of the bands top albums at an excellent price. For anyone that doesn't need (or already have) the three albums this release covers, this would be my recommendation. An amazing collection of music!

Take Everything: The Acoustic Sessions EP | Posted November-04-2011
I have loved much of Seventh Day Slumber's music that has been released over the years. Unfortunately this acoustic album and the main album with the same name did not connect with me very strongly. This 5 song EP is pretty good, but probably not something I would listen to on a frequent basis. For me the vocals seem to have lost some of their punch and emotional connection overall.

I really loved the idea of this release, having modern worship songs performed by one of the top bands in Christian hard rock. Overall this release did not connect with me as strongly as many of the bands earlier works though. The strong focus on worship is amazing, but overall I felt the vocals just felt a little tired and didn't move me. Thankfully others seem to have been really ministered to through this release.

This is truly an amazing release for anyone looking for top notch Christian rock in the Spanish language. I think it is great that the band decided to release this album and to minister to people who speak Spanish. It's also great in that it features the bands top songs. The production and quality on this album is top notch.

Picking Up The Pieces (Enhanced, Original recording remastered) | Posted November-01-2011
This release struck me as a very raw and gritty high-energy release from Seventh Day Slumber. A re-release of the bands 2003 album, It transitioned from the bands first two releases that had a stronger acoustic element and instead comes out of the gate with a very strong edge that it retains throughout. The songs are very catchy and very well done, with many of the songs repeated from the bands earlier releases, but re-done in a hard rock style. This re-release features the 10 tracks from the first release but also includes 6 additional tracks, making it a better purchase due to the additional content.

Once Upon A Shattered Life | Posted November-01-2011
This release by Seventh Day Slumber was a huge step in production values and songwriting. The entire album is amazingly well done with a lot of variety in tempo and the songs are instantly catchy and draw you in to the bands message of redemption and the new life in Christ. Much of the guitar work on this album is very good and is well highlighted, and as always Joseph's voice is top notch and fits this style of music beautifully.

Freedom From Human Regulations | Posted November-01-2011
I really enjoyed this release. A lot of the album reminded me of Creed and many of the songs follow a pattern of acoustic beginning with a heavy rock kick off at the chorus. After awhile this kind of stands out as a pattern, but all of the songs are enjoyable and deal with subjects such as regret over sin, thankfulness for grace, and frustration with the reality of sin. The band is down to earth, real and seeks to express an honest description of the struggles we all face.

Matthew 25 | Posted November-01-2011
A good solid frist release for this band. This release has a strong acoustic backdrop, but mixes it up well with some harder edge guitar work, some Red Hot Chili Peppers funk, and at moments reminded me of The Counting Crows. I liked many of the songs on this CD upon first listen and think it shows a lot of raw talent. It seems very raw, honest and straight forward concerning the struggles of life and the need for a savior.

Skeleton Bones - Digital Single | Posted October-26-2011
This is by far my favorite song yet from John Mark McMillan. This single stands apart as well as being the only place I have been able to find the "How He Loves" video. Some have stated the version on this single is slightly different than the track releasd on the "The Medicine" release. I haven't heard the difference myself, but if so, that would make this single a great collectors item for fans.
