Avalon Rocks! | Posted March-19-2009
This is my first album from Avalon. I haven't heard a lot from them, save for "Testify to Love", cause everyone has heard that one! I'm not a big fan of Inspirational/AC music, but I was honestly really surprised at how amazing it was.

The album starts with the signature Avalon hit, "Testify to Love", which has become one of Christian music's biggest hits in the last twenty years. The song "Give it Up", from theur 1996 debut album, is an upbeat, lively pop song that talks about giving up everything for Christ.

"Knockin' On Heavens Door", from their 1997 sophomore release A Maze of Grace, has a fast-paced beat with an irresistible melancholy feel. The new song "Still My God" is one of my least favorites. It has a boring Casting Crowns feel to it. The song is uplifting, but the music lacks depth.

"Take You At Your Word" is a fun, peppy track that sounds like something V*Enna would have sung. The mainstream crossover hit, "Can't Live A Day", from their 1999 album In A Different Light, is a beautiful song about not being able to live without Christ.

"The Glory", from their 2001 album Oxygen, is a powerful anthem with killer vocals that talks about Christ's glory. "Wonder Why" has a somewhat dance/club feel to it. The song immediately puts a smile on your face. "Adonai" has a praise & worship vibe, while "New Day" is a sunny pop/rock song that sounds like Joy Williams or Jaci Velasquez. "Everything to Me" is a great song that is about how Christ is everything. "I Don't Wanna Go" is my favorite song from the album. The song is so real and so true. I tear up everytime I listen to this gorgeous song.

The happy "All", from their 2004 album The Creed, reminds me of ZOEgirl, while "You Were There" is a tender ballad. The only song from their 2006 release Stand, "Orphans of God" features rich vocal harmonies and a lush string arrangement. The remake of "In Christ Alone", from their 2006 album Faith, is one of my favorite renditions of the song.

Overall, the album can be summed up in one word: Amazing. The only thing I have to say is that the album could have featured a couple more songs, such as "In Not Of" or "Always Have, Always Will", and I would have liked to see another song from their album Stand, but like I said, it's a great album and I really enjoyed it.

Nice Compilation of Female Voices. | Posted January-26-2009
This is a pretty good CD and I enjoyed a few of the songs. All three of Point of Grace's songs are sorta boring and bland, nothing really to get hyped up about. Nichole Nordeman does a heartfelt rendition of "You Are My All In All" while Out of Eden does a groovy remake of "Every Move I Make". I loved Rachael Lampa's powerhouse performance "Promise My Prayers", while Jaci and Jill do a nice duet together on "Trust In the Lord". Jennifer and Christy are easily forgotten, but Joy Williams stands out with her praise & worship song "Live to Worship". Overall, it's better than most of Point of Grace's boring releases, but only because of the extra voices on this release.

Eh. | Posted January-09-2009
This CD is just eh. Most of the songs are WAYYYYY overrated like Casting Crowns, MercyMe and Chris Tomlin. The only songs I enjoyed were "Awaken" and "Set the World On Fire". This disc is way worse than the 2nd one.

Better Than the 1st Disc. | Posted January-09-2009
In my opinion this Disc is better than the first. I really love the songs "Made to Love", "I Need You to Love Me", "Something Beautiful", "Only the World", "Stand in the Rain" and "What If". I like this disc more cause it has more Pop/Rock tunes on it!

Review for the iTunes Deluxe Version | Posted March-08-2009
Obviously the whole album rocks, but this review is for the iTunes Worldwide Edition. I really thought it was awesome how Krystal learned 3 different languages just so she could share her music in other countries! That is so cool! Plus, the bonus track, a remake of the hit Eurythmics song "Sweet Dreams" is probably the greatest song Krystal has ever recorded. It's a thumping dance track that would do great on the dance/club charts. I also really enjoy the music video for "Make Some Noise". It's a fun and peppy video with lots of flashing lights and cool choreography. Great edition of the album!

Terrible Album. | Posted December-24-2008
Sure, this has plenty of hits from some cool artists (some have 2 songs on here), but where is Rebecca St. James?! She was one of the biggest artists in the 90's and yet she is completely shunned on this album. Terrible. TERRIBLE!

A Pretty Sweet Release. | Posted December-24-2008
This album does have some really awesome songs on it. I enjoyed "Not Ashamed", "Testify to Love" and "God". The others were so-so, but it's still a nice collection.

Another Lame Sampler | Posted December-24-2008
These samplers are lame. The only songs I enjoyed were "Live My Life For You" and "Indestructible". Other than that, it's just a bunch of Adult Contemporary stuff that has somehow become "big hits" on radio. Whatever.

Amazing Comeback! | Posted December-23-2008
When Joy posted her free download of the guitar-driven, indie pop "Lose Myself", I was extremely excited about this new release! And it's finally here! The title track is a whimsical, pop/jazz confection similar to "Love Song" by Sara Barielles or "I'm Letting Go" by Francesca Battistelli. "What Can I Do" is a beautiful love song, while "Charmed Life" is a delightfully haunting, piano-based track. The final song "I'm Gonna Break Your Heart" is a sweet, confessional ballad that talks about not being perfect. The pre-order tracks are a little fuzzy, but they're worth it. Overall, this EP is a really nice collection of a new Joy Williams sound and I can't wait for more in the future.

Decent Collection of Music. | Posted December-22-2008
This is a decent collection of worship music. The newsboys' pop sound is a lot better, but this ain't bad. I really enjoyed "Adoration" and "You Are My King". Not too shabby.
