Go Get It by Mary Mary Go Get It by Mary Mary
After listening to this album, I realized it is essentially composed of songs Mary Mary has previous released but the versions here appear to have a different mix. The first part of the album left me a...
For You From You by Dan For You From You by Dan
This release is very worshipful throughout and entirely focused on God and our response to and wonder of Him. Dan has a unique voice that is pleasant to listen to, and the lyrics for this album are very...
The Listening EP by Dan The Listening EP by Dan
A short EP of works from Dan featuring 3 songs in total with the 4th track being a radio edit. I honestly didn't feel that any of the songs on this release really grabbed me or made me want to re-listen...

Triple Feature | Posted November-17-2011
Essentailly a re-packaing of three albums from MWS early years in CCM relased by Sony/BMG. Not something I would highly recommend to most, unless someone didn't didn't have these releases and didn't really want the individual stand alone CD's.

The Ultimate Christmas Collection | Posted November-17-2011
Essentially a boxed set of MWS three previously released Christmas albums. This would be a great set to pick up for anyone who doesn't have the albums already. They all flow together very well and feature a good balance of popular Christmas songs and original works.

A New Hallelujah | Posted November-17-2011
A powerfully charged live worship release by MWS that is a great complement to the worship albums he has released previously, but that still stands on it's own in large part due to the unique elements brought in by Israel Houghton and the African Children's Choir. I really liked the arrangements, power and mixing on this release and thought the blend of performers with the audience created a very beautiful sound that draws you to join in worshipping. An excellent release in MWS extensive catalog.

It's a Wonderful Christmas | Posted November-17-2011
Wow!...a third Christmas release from MWS. Featuring Mandisa on "Christmas Day" and lush orchestral and choral accompaniment, this album really has the feel of a grand scale musical. I think this release fits nicely with the other two Christmas CD's MWS has done and enjoyed this one very much. It was nice that this release didn't just contain a lot of the traditional Christmas songs you hear (or overhear) every holiday season, and provides something unique and different in that sense.

Stand | Posted November-17-2011
I really didn't care for this release overall as much as "Healing Rain". Michael's voice sounds a little strained and thin at points to me which detracted from my overall enjoyment of listening to the album, and I didn't much care for the arrangements on some of the tracks. There are some awesome messages in the songs presented here though and applaud Michael's heartfelt and expressed love for Christ and desire to proclaim His truth. Hopefully this will be a release that might grow on me more in time. One track I do really like from this release is "Be Lifted High"

The Best of Michael W. Smith: Platinum Series | Posted November-17-2011
A greatest hits collection of MWS music is a very challenging thing if you are going to limit it to a single CD. I don't think the entire disc was even filled up for this release, stopping after only 10 tracks. This really seems to just be a budget "best of" album for someone looking for an inexpensive "light" overview of some of MWS top songs. It's an interesting album, leaving out a great deal, and not something I would recommend to most, but I suppose has it's place.

Healing Rain Dual Disc | Posted November-17-2011
On this release MWS returned to his pop CCM roots and a released an album with some strong songs and shows once again that he is a diversified artist who can successfully create in multiple genre's. The more I listen to this album the more it grows on me. Initially my favorite track was "Live Forever", but at this point, I enjoy almost all of them. The recordings, instrumentation and mixing on this release are top notch, sounding full, attractive and engaging. This dual disc edition of this release is probably the best choice for anyone who is interested in the DVD included.

The Christmas Collection | Posted November-17-2011
This set is actually a re-packaging of MWS previous Chrsitmas releases (Christmastime and Christmas Al bum). Having both releases together in a package is definitely an attractive thing to anyone that has not previously purchased them. The albums flow together very nicely and makes for a great collection of music for the holidays.

The Second Decade (1993-2003) | Posted November-15-2011
A good retrospective of MWS second decade in CCM. This release featured 3 new songs, including a remake of the songs "Friends". There were some limited editions of this release that also came with a DVD that had 4 music videos and some commentary from MWS. The song selections on here are good and flow well, even on a greatest hits compilation.
