dark and light | Posted January-22-2011
At times I was "weirded out" by the darkness of the book, but in the end the story was really good. I love how Dekker always does analogies in His book that shows Christ as conquerer. He's sometimes a little TOO descriptive of the women, but overall the story and the point of the story were, true to Dekker style...satisfying and encouraging.

Believe He Can, Because He Can! | Posted January-19-2011
What a life changer. What a thought changer. My prayer life has been totally rearranged and inspired.
To think, that when you ask God for something and you honestly believe that He will give it to you, that He will. If it lines up with His will.
I was taught how to ask for something based strictly on scripture. Based on Gods performance in the past. Reaffirming that God did this in the past, and He can most certainly do it again. He can come through. There is no doubt. He doesn't often answer right away. Sometimes it takes years, but never stop believing. If you know that God has given you this dream/desire, pray like crazy.
I was taught that there is more to prayer. We can have all the faith in the world that God will do what we ask, but often times we need to act as well. We need to take a step into the rising waves and believe that God will pull through. Oftentimes it's a long exhausting journey...but we can't bow out. The process is the important part.
This was beyond a shadow of a doubt my favorite part. The part about the process. It was so encouraging. We weren't created to get to the end. We were created to go through the process, and in going through that process we grow and develop our Christ like character bringing all the glory to him.
Sun Stand Still prayers aren't just for big things either. Oftentimes they just involve your day to day life...you're job and your family.
Surrender your daily life, believe that he can change things and give you what you ask, step out, and watch God do some amazing things. I'm excited!

Like a Star | Posted February-10-2010
Here again is another artist that has done exceedingly better with a cd following their debut album. There were 3 songs on there that I enjoyed...but this one has so much deeper meaning, while at the same time being fun. It is definitely an enjoyable cd. With very uplifting songs, and some very fun ones as well :) Oh and a cute one too..."Like a Star"

Music with a story | Posted February-10-2010
When FM static first came out i loved them. Then they tried to make another album and it was terrible. I only liked one song and even then, that song was repetitive. When they came out with this one they brought themselves back big time! It is one of the most enjoyable cds I have. I get the feeling that Trevor McNevan understands people. He gets those who struggle to believe in God, he's not judgemental. He comes down to the level of the everyday average person.
What makes it even better is the fact that it's in story form. They're not just random songs but they have meaning behind them, meaning that is explained in the booklet that comes with the cd.
There is at least one song in this cd that everyone can relate too. Every song is enjoyable to listen to.They did a really great job with this one

Worship | Posted February-10-2010
This is a very enjoyable, uplifting cd. Worship in the waiting is one of my favorite songs ever, and they do one of the best renditions of Christ Alone ever :)

dragging dragon | Posted February-06-2010
Honestly I thought this book was a drag. It took me forever to get into the book and by the time the discovering of whatever it was that was killing people was over, I was bored again. I wanted it to end. It had a good message, but it was drug out to no end.

Undeserved love | Posted February-06-2010
This is an amazing book. The struggles that he has being only human, and the trials of her past that she must overcome. his love for heris the perfect depiction of us and our adulterous hearts, minus the fact that michael is human and God is not. It's definitely an amazing read.

personal opinion | Posted September-14-2009
I'm not a big fan of Pillar. I enjoy a few of their songs and there is normally at least one song on each of their cd's that has caught my attention, but I didn't find anything intriguing in this one. This is just a personal opinion being that I'm not a big fan.

A story with morals | Posted September-03-2009
This book may not be the eye catcher that his other books were but it was GOOD! It takes a bit to trudge through the first bit, but you'll get there.
It's a story about a man's battle with truth and God
It's a story about the clinginess of a world who clings to anything but God
It's a story about trying to justify your sin
It's a story about getting the truth out and not covering it to save your butt
It's a story about the right of a baby
It's a story of corruption in the government, which can and is happening.
It's a story of getting out of yourself and looking to help others.
It's good...and encouraging

dry hair :p | Posted September-03-2009
I used to blow dry my hair to this cd. I like this cd. They're good at hitting at the heart of a girl...especially with porcelain heart. And I love the challenge that grey presents.
