This book is very different from any book I've ever read, as it promised that it would be.
I was excited to start out in the book and it seemed to be getting off to a good start,...

Adam Brown was one crazy, crazy man. One I would've loved to know. He lived a life without fear, he did what he needed to do, and fought for the chance to do over and above what everyone else thought...

Nobody in their right mind would say that an enemy is necessary. Well, except for Ron Carpenter Jr. and now me since reading this book. Nobody likes an enemy. Everyone wants to be rid of them, but...

Very Surprised! Intoxicated! | Posted August-16-2011
I was not expecting what I got from this book. I was so wrapped up in the characters! The story sucked me in and I didn't want to miss a word of what happened. The story seemed so real and tangible since the characters were so far from perfect and yet they searched for way to do good.
The reason I was so surprised is because I read the first book in the series "Invincible", and hated it. It was way to far out and just plain down weird. But I thought I'd try her again, and I'm glad I did.

It's the story of a man who once was a famous athlete, but now strives to make up for his arrogance and the way he hurt others by working with search and rescue. A woman, who has such a photographic memory that if she doesn't sculpt a face out of her memory it's all she can see. These two struggle through life and the problems in it together.

I received this book for free from the Waterbrook Multunomah Publishing company for the purpose of this review.

Good Little Read | Posted July-20-2011
It didn't take me very long at all to finish this short story about a man who finds himself having dinner with Jesus Christ, the Son of God. It was a nice little story that made you want to kick back and relax, and emphasized that Jesus is who He says He is and that an encounter with him will change your life.

I recieved this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Company as part of their blogging program.

behavior vs heart | Posted July-04-2011
In a world that tells you to behave, Andy Stanley tells you to look into your heart. We are so focused on our outward behavior that we don't think much about the anger, greed, jealousy, and guilt that is growing inside of us without us really knowing. He also offers practical ways to overcome the diseases that grow unnoticed. The writing is thoroughly enjoyable and occasionally witty. All in all this book is very helpful when it comes to the Christian book and it's an interesting read at that.

Personally Bothersome | Posted May-16-2011
I wasn't sure how to take this book. I admire the fact that the women made it the whole way across the country on foot, but I think it was also rather foolish. She should've listened to her husband. I'm not saying that women should be barefoot in the kitchen, but she was married with 8 children. Whether she was doing this to save her farm or not, her place was at home...trusting that God would provide.
I'm just rather unsure about what I think about the book. I'm a woman myself but I feel like theres a balance and both of the women in this book crossed it...which is why they failed so miserably.

I'm not at all discrediting the author. I believe the story was well written but I'm not sure what I think about the story line even though it was a true story. Everyone is so extreme in what they felt and thought and there was no balance in the lives of these people. This book just went against my personal morals and thought patterns and therefore was a struggle for me.

A must read for any single woman | Posted April-28-2011
I highly recommend this book to any and every single woman who hopes to one day be married. Read about the stories of how women  prayed for their husbands and God answered their prayers. This book not only offers example prayers that you can pray for him, but example prayers for you as well. It encourages you to wait patiently and to know that God sees both of you and is working even now in both of your lives and His timing is perfect! Read it and pray. You never know how your prayers could impact the life of your future love :)

Judge not, lest ye be judged | Posted April-17-2011
Oh,how I enjoyed this book. It was actually one that I really didn't want to get but there were no other options. And so I decided I'd suffer through it.
I was so wrong. This book is full of suspense with very well developed characters, and a plot that reveals itself just a little at a time leading to me NOT being able to put it down. There is also a very good lesson on being a judgemental person.

A self centered news reporter, a quiet but incredibly decisive detective, and his partner, a fierce woman with an attitude that will scare the living daylights out of any guilty person, all get thrown in to this crazy journey of trying to figure out who and why.

Oh and theres some romance too.;)

It's definitely worth your time. Definitely.

God in heartache | Posted April-04-2011
A  wonderful recapturing of the story of Ruth, I loved this book. I was captured from page one. The characters and their emotions were so believable and real.It is also clearly set in historic Scotland, with those of lower class using the less elegant version of the Scottish language. She really brought the setting and it's inhabitants to life. And I loved watching the unfolding of change in the 2 main characters through their heartache and causing them to rely totally on him.
This is only part one though. The second book is due for release in September 2011, and i am really looking forward to it.

How to Deal | Posted March-17-2011
Written more for the married with children, at times I struggled to relate since I have not yet reached that stage of life. Still, it was very helpful. Especially when it came to conflicts and how to communicate in awkward situations in general. That can come in handy with anyone in your life. It is an EXCELLENT book to read if you are married or engaged, and even helpful with your relationship with your kids. It will definitely be one that I will keep around for later on in my life. But instead of taking it as a 30 day challenge I think I might spread it out more and take it as a 30 week challenge.

Hmmm | Posted March-04-2011
I found this book to be confusing, and really hard to follow. She seemed to begin to explain something and then drop it. The romance was good...I did get a little emotional over that. But other than that it struck me as weird...This is the first book I have read by her and I know people that do enjoy her work, so maybe I just picked up the wrong book.
And really I wouldn't have said this was a Christian novel if it wasn't made clear that the main character, Tia, was a Christian. Foul language is used in this book and her depiction of sex seemed rather off to me.

I don't know, maybe its just me. Pick it up and give it a try. Maybe you'll really enjoy it!

Thunder and Lightning | Posted February-10-2011
I honestly found this book to be rather odd. It started off odd and ended odd...but the main plot of the story was very intriguing.
There is a recurring theme of thunder and lightning in this book. She was born on the banks of a river in a thunderstorm, The mysterious book appeared with a flash, And the man who would change Mercy Lands heart appeared in the midst of a rainstorm.

Mercy is a Bittersweet girl, with a hard backbone and a strong mind. Her ordinary life consists of her working hard beside the Editor in Chief of Bay City's daily newspaper, *The Banner*.and then returning to her boardinghouse at night. But her daily life is about to be rearranged when two things appear in her life: One, A book that can take you deep into the lives of others just by touching it. And two, The mysterious John Quincy, the only one who might make her heart skip a beat. But she has connections to him that she at first cannot see. And he has a history that is buried deep beneath his movie star persona.

Why did the book appear? What is it's purpose? Why do they have it? Don't miss out on the lesson.

Despite the fact that I personally found the book to be odd, I did really like the lesson of the story.
