Sun Stand Still
What Happens When You Dare to Ask God for the Impossible
by Adriana Lima | Genre: Christian Living
Release Date: September 2010

Sun Stand Still is a summons to a generation, a personal story, and a exhilarating accounts of a headline-making movement of audacious faith that drives the second fastest growing church in the nation.

The personal story is Steven Furtick's as he recounts his unusual journey from small town Moncks Corner, South Carolina, to lead pastor at Elevation Church in Charlotte, North Carolina. And, the exhilarating account shows what happens when ordinary believers commit to their own "sun stand still" prayers.

Based on Joshua's "impossible" request that the sun stand still until God's enemies had been destroyed, Steven's book shows that Joshua's audacious prayer is not meant to be an exception but the necessary stuff of life-changing faith. Sun Stand Still will challenge readers to seize a vision for their life that they can only accomplish with God's help, then show them in practical terms how to live it out on a daily basis.

Believe He Can, Because He Can! | Posted January 19, 2011
What a life changer. What a thought changer. My prayer life has been totally rearranged and inspired.
To think, that when you ask God for something and you honestly believe that He will give it to you, that He will. If it lines up with His will.
I was taught how to ask for something based strictly on scripture. Based on Gods performance in the past. Reaffirming that God did this in the past, and He can most certainly do it again. He can come through. There is no doubt. He doesn't often answer right away. Sometimes it takes years, but never stop believing. If you know that God has given you this dream/desire, pray like crazy.
I was taught that there is more to prayer. We can have all the faith in the world that God will do what we ask, but often times we need to act as well. We need to take a step into the rising waves and believe that God will pull through. Oftentimes it's a long exhausting journey...but we can't bow out. The process is the important part.
This was beyond a shadow of a doubt my favorite part. The part about the process. It was so encouraging. We weren't created to get to the end. We were created to go through the process, and in going through that process we grow and develop our Christ like character bringing all the glory to him.
Sun Stand Still prayers aren't just for big things either. Oftentimes they just involve your day to day life...you're job and your family.
Surrender your daily life, believe that he can change things and give you what you ask, step out, and watch God do some amazing things. I'm excited!
