Provident Records singer/songwriter Seph Schlueter is an artist to watch. Across his album Counting My Blessings, Schlueter delivers confessional, biblically rooted lyrics wrapped in Christ-centered, catchy melodies. If you’ve been longing for fresh worship music that joyfully points us back to complete dependence on God’s grace, his catalog is well worth your attention. Standout tracks include “Counting My Blessings,” “Running Back to You,” “Won’t Start Now,” and “Turn It to Praise”—a collection that earned a spot among my top 10 worship albums of 2025.
Schlueter’s songs consistently showcase the deep love Jesus has for us, along with the mercy and grace we could never earn. That awareness naturally leads to gratitude, making his music both devotional and joyful. His songwriting encourages listeners to respond with thankful hearts, praising God for His faithfulness in daily life.
If you’re seeking Christ-centered, uplifting music that leads you back to grace, Seph Schlueter is an emerging artist you won’t want to miss. I recently spoke with him about his upbeat, hope-filled song, “Turn It to Praise.”
Please tell me the personal story behind this song.
“Turn It To Praise” is an anthem for anyone who has seen or is waiting to see God make things work for good. He will take what the enemy meant for evil and use it for His glory, and so we always have a reason to praise Him.
It is a song about joyful repentance and finding beauty in God's consistent love. It came from moments of reflecting on life's struggles and realizing God's constant presence, even when we've gone astray.
God can redeem any circumstance for His glory, turning trials into testimonies of praise, reflecting my own journey of trusting God through struggles and running back to Him.
Which Bible verses connect to the message of the song?
Psalm 91:2 (NKJV): "I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust."
Romans 8:28 (VOICE): "We are confident that God is able to orchestrate everything to work toward something good and beautiful when we love Him and accept His invitation to live according to His plan."
Philippians 4:13 (NKJV): "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Philippians 1:6 (NKJV): "Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ."
John 8:36 (NIV): "So, if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."
Romans 8:31 (NIV): "What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”
John 1:12 (NIV): "Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God."
What is the takeaway message?
This song echoes Romans 8:28, reminding listeners that God is always working behind the scenes—turning pain into praise and trials into testimonies. He will take what the enemy meant for evil and use it for His glory, so we always have a reason to praise Him. This song serves as a hopeful reminder of that truth.
I don’t have to have everything perfectly figured out or perfectly put together. I just have to stay obedient because this is what He’s called me to do. In hard times, remember, “God, you’re still working in this, and I can still see you move here, and I’ve seen you move a thousand times before, so I know that you’re still going to show up and do it again.”
Lyrics
You got a history of changing stories Even when I wrote mine off as done When I see a mystery before me I know the battles won
You’ve already won
So when I am drownin in these waters Facing lions in the den I know I will have a testimony of Your faithfulness
Your faithfulness
You Take All that the enemy meant to destroy me And turn it to glory You Make Beautiful endings to every story You turn it to glory And I’ll turn it to praise
I’ll turn it to praise
I’ve got a thousand songs to offer (yeah) From every season of my life So I will lay them on the altar Where You show up every time You’re making everything right
Yeah
You Take All that the enemy meant to destroy me And turn it to glory (ohh ohh) You Make Beautiful endings to every story You turn it to glory And I’ll turn it to praise I’ll turn it to praise I’ll turn it to praise I’ll turn it to praise I’ll turn it to praise Turn it to praise Turn it to praise
(I’ll turn it) Turn it to praise Turn it to praise Turn it to praise Praise Praise
Turn it to praise
You Take All that the enemy meant to destroy me And turn it to glory
Ohh
You (You) Make (make) Beautiful endings to every story (story) You turn it to glory (turn it to glory) And I’ll turn it to praise I’ll turn it to praise I’ll turn it to praise Oh Keep turning to praise Turn it to praise Turn it to praise Turn it to praise Turn it to praise Turn it to praise
Closing Thoughts
“Turn it to Praise” reveals that the solution is Jesus, the one anointed and appointed by God for our salvation. He is the only one who can save us and transform our broken dreams into testimonies of joy.
The good news of the Gospel, which this song portrays, is that God accepts us—no matter what we've done or what we’re going through. In many parts of our lives, we're also often worried a lot. We need to let that go and trust the Lord to be our redeemer.
The beauty of a song like “Turn it to Praise” is that it wraps us in comforting words and celebrates God’s joy in sharing our stories. It vividly depicts His love for us. As you listen, let the thought, “You got a history of changing stories, even when I wrote mine off as done, when I see a mystery before me, I know the battles won,” guide you into a spirit of worship.
This song reminds believers that being a Christian means walking by faith, not by sight. Faith involves trusting in what cannot be seen. We all walk by faith every day. The beauty of walking by faith instead of by sight is that it helps us trust God more deeply in our lives. As followers of Jesus, the key is to walk by faith and be guided daily by prayer and God's infallible Word, the Bible.
Sometimes Christians are aware of facts about the Bible but fail to live out the truth that the Holy Spirit dwells within us. As followers of Jesus, we trust in God's Word. We are all growing and improving. Have faith and trust that God will "work all things together for good.”
Sometimes, you need to be renewed and ask for a fresh filling of His Spirit. We must pray daily that the Holy Spirit shines the light of Jesus through us. With a fresh filling and singing along with this song, you can find the courage and excitement to live biblically. The Bible says that with faith, we can do anything in Christ. It's a true statement you can use to set a daily reminder; don't be afraid. One lesson I've learned about life is that we shouldn't wait to fix ourselves before taking action. Look for ways to obey God and offer your faith to Him.
Sometimes we build a wall between God and us, but He only wants us to return to Him. His love never changes, and nothing can separate us from it. We were dead in sins, but by grace, we are saved and made alive in Christ.
That's reason to sing, “All that the enemy meant to destroy me, And turn it to glory, You make beautiful endings to every story, You turn it to glory, And I’ll turn it to praise, I’ll turn it to praise.” Amen to that.
