Worship bands Elevation Worship and Maverick City Music have come together and released their collaborative album, Old Church Basement. The bands have released live videos for each song on the album to YouTube, bringing the record to life. Here are six of the best songs and live video moments from the album.

"Old Church Basement"

Both Elevation Worship and Maverick City seem to have a reverence for Gospel music and for the rich church tradition that's come before them. I love that about them. These lyrics recount the artists' first experiences with learning how to worship and experiencing the presence of God in an old church basement with no flashy production and stages. They capture the beauty of remembering history with God and how precious simple moments in His presence can be. The energy of the crowd gathered to worship makes the video feel like a traditional Gospel church service with the congregation talking back to the preacher and the choir, the whole room fully participating in the moment together.

"Jireh"

"Jireh," the lead single from Old Church Basement, was recorded just days after Maverick City's Chandler Moore had lost everything he owned in an apartment fire. In my opinion, "Jireh" is this album's stand out song. There are just certain moments of worship and certain songs that God seems to move upon in a special way. "Jireh" is one of them and the live video captures that "something special." Naomi Raine powerfully declares the promises of God's Word in the bridge, stirring the listener to fresh faith in God and His Word as Chandler plays one of the most beautiful piano melodies on the record. This video will draw you into a place of vulnerability and freedom in worshipping God no matter your circumstance. It's a God-breathed moment and can't-miss video.

"Million Little Miracles"

Led by Joe L Barnes, "Million Little Miracles" is a great song that will make you pause and think about all the ways God has worked in your life--big and small--and thank Him for them. The two worship collectives found such a clever way to express this concept in the chorus lyrics, "one, two, three, four, I can't even count them all." The song features a lead guitar line that undergirds the song and is a captivating melody in its own right.

"Talking to Jesus"

"Talking to Jesus" is the most unique song on the album because of the way its arrangement is crafted. The song is mostly a series of several verses, each following the same melody, with a single repeated lyrical line--"talking to Jesus"-- serving as a hook in the pre-chroruses. A more traditional chorus doesn't appear until a couple verses into the song. It has a narrative, testimony feel, even in the way Brandon Lake sings it. It reminds me of when the Bible speaks about one generation telling of God's faithfulness to another and teaching the next generation God's ways. There's an instrumental break towards the end of the video where the audience starts singing out spontaneously as Brandon encourages them to start talking to Jesus right in that moment and it's powerful.

"Before And After"

"Before and After" features Bethel Music's Amanda Lindsey Cook, who has collaborated with Maverick City Music before on their previous albums. There's a great moment when Amanda introduces the bridge lyric, "From the ashes You make beautiful things, I know 'cause You did it in me" and slowly the drums and rest of the band start to build in behind her. As they do, the crowd starts to sing along too and the whole room is enveloped in declaration of that truth.

"Build Your Church"

"Build Your Church" is rich in theology, quotes a ton of scripture, and brings us back to the foundations of what we believe. It's a joyful, high energy song and video that makes a perfect ending to the album. There's a catchy bridge melody that's introduced musically in the song's interludes and then appears later as the bridge melody. By then you're already familiar with it and ready to join in singing the climax of the song's message: declaring God's faithfulness throughout the ages to build His Church and asking Him to continue doing a great work in and through His people.
