Streetlight Sounds' J. Crum and indie rapper L3XDIVINE pair for one of the hottest singles to date. Each artist provided a taste of their range of skill sets defined in harmonic runs and pinpointed lyricism. Crum takes a soothing, slowed-down tempo fitted with soulful sounds looped and basically laces everything with bar after bar set to 100 mph. Regardless of speed, Crum's delivery is smothered in witty wordplay as he flawless remains settled in the pocket. The same held true for his female counterpart. "PIPE DREAM" is both raw and soulful. It possesses that unique sound that separates it from the clutter of a heavy release night of numerous singles. For me, it's definitely near the top for single of the night. Less than a month after the announcement of two new additions to the indie tribe. collective (Jon Keith and DJ Mykael V), the reimagined foursome drops a debut album titled,
U P P E R H A N D. It’s one of the most highly anticipated projects of 2021. Does it live up to the hype?
“Imploded” opens the album with the identity of an introduction track. It’s essentially various well-known media outlets in the CHH space downplaying the future of indie tribe. after WHATUPRG and Jarry Manna left the collective last year. The first official track is the second single released earlier this month, “Holy Smoke!” Basically, the foundation was to showcase the lyrical talents of nobigdyl. and Jon Keith previewing what’s to come for the tribe. Some of the standouts of the album are “Clear” reintroducing Mogli’s superpower to “rap RAP” on tracks, “POPFUNKO” play on words from the popular vinyl figures and other pop culture references, and “Saltwater” exhibiting the tribe.’s versatility along the side of “Outside” with Mogli’s superb vocals coupled with a slowed-down tempo altering the soundscape of the album.
The absolute showstopper on the album was saved for last, the best. “Tribal Council” is everything fans desire in a collaborative project of a dope collective. Personally, it’s up there for me with “Same Team” by Swoope, “King in Me” by W.L.A.K., and “I Got the Juice” by Dream Junkies. It’s a special track from start to finish. Trust me.
U P P E R H A N D stands tall against the hype with accolades. It’s a step forward for the culture. It’s a blueprint for how collaboration should proceed forward. It’s beautiful. Listen to

Aaron Cole - "Miracle"
Gotee Records' multi-talented Aaron Cole drops his second single of 2021 titled, "Miracle." Across his social feeds, Cole refers to the track as the "song of the summer" as June rapidly approaches next week. Listeners are treated to both his melodic harmonies and his gritty lyricism. The driving high hats paired with the heavenly keys in the background provide the perfect landscape for Cole to do his thing. Also, there are a few other production highlights to pinpoint throughout I'll leave unspoken for your ears to detect.
