We take an exciting trip to the music of Nick and Becky Drake, better known as the collective, Worship for Everyone, during our weekly pause for worship.
On this week's Worship Reflective we take a fun adventure with Worship for Everyone. Nick and Becky Drake created this musical community in 2010. They are passionate about creating songs that can be enjoyed by every generation. No matter the age, the lyrics are written to be impactful. They speak about the universal truth of God and provide joy to their listeners.
Featuring a kids worship video was a first for this series but a welcome change. It brought me back to my youth group days as a young kid. In fact, that is where my love of music was firstborn. To continue the universal accessibility theme, I shortened the devotionals for these songs. That way, they're good for all ages. I encourage you to share the songs and the message breakdown with your children, nieces and nephews, grandchildren, or any kids you know. Sometimes, the beautiful light of faith can be dimmed by our everyday life. Come rediscover it with us through this music!
NEW: "The Rock"
Stand strong God is for you Stand strong Jesus is the rock you're on
Nothing of this Earth is permanent. Earth itself is simply a passing point for us as we make our way to heaven. However, it can be discouraging when we see our temporary solutions crumble. Knowing our foundation in God is so reassuring. He is the one person who will never fail us and His love is the only thing that will never crumble. Take a moment to thank God for this supernatural strength and when life gets tough, remember it can't shake Jesus. He is the rock you're on.
NEW: "The Ark"
Lift your eyes to heaven And take one step at a time Get these words inside your head And say them line by line "I am safe within the ark"
I've lost count of the many times I've felt out of place in my own life. Not being "normal" is something many Christians struggle with. As children of God, we are going to act differently and that is perfectly fine. The feeling it brings on can be unsettling because we don't fit in. But I can tell you from experience, being "normal" is nowhere near as amazing as it seems. God has you right where He wants you to be. Trust in Him for your identity and remember He is your eternal protector.
