It's finally Spring. Am I the only one or did this winter feel exceptionally long? (I blame the COVID-19 pandemic or the groundhog.) Thankfully, Spring is here, which means there's new music in store for the warmer months ahead. Here are some upcoming releases that you won't want to miss (and click here for the full list).
CeCe Winans - Believe For It (Live) (3/12)
Veteran Christian artist CeCe Winans has been releasing music for 26 years. A legend in gospel music circles, Cece has won 12 Grammy Awards and 23 GMA Dove Awards. For a good reason, too. Her vocals are incredible. She's such a talented artist. Last fall, CeCe released a cover of Elevation Worship's hit song, "Never Lost." So far, the cover has garnered over two million views on YouTube.
Now, Cece's back with a brand new live album, Believe For It, which includes a live recording of her 1999 song, "Alabaster Box," along with covers of other popular worship songs. She's back. So, don't miss out on her upcoming record.
Carrie Underwood - My Savior (3/26)
Although country artist Carrie Underwood hasn't released much Christian music, she's always been very outspoken about her faith. In 2005, she released her well-known song, "Jesus, Take The Wheel." This certifiable hit introduced many people to her faith.
I remember listening to "Jesus, Take The Wheel" all the time when I was younger. So, I'm was excited that Carrie is releasing her first-ever gospel album, My Savior. The project is a collection of hymns that features a few collaborations with some Christian artists.
Carrie's version of "Great Is Thy Faithfulness," features gospel great CeCe Winans. And, "Nothing But the Blood of Jesus," includes harmonies by Bear Rinehart of NEEDTOBREATHE. Her new album is sure to be a treat. It's available on March 26.
for KING & COUNTRY - Burn The Ships (Deluxe Edition: Remixes & Collaborations) (3/26)
for KING & COUNTRY, comprised of brothers Joel and Luke Smallbone, have become popular in both Christian and mainstream music industries. Both Smallbone brothers are incredible musicians with a heart to reach people for Christ through their music.
In 2018, for KING & COUNTRY released their third record, Burn The Ships, which became an instant hit. The album features radio singles "joy." and "God Only Knows."
Since then, they have released a number of remixes of the aforementioned songs, along with collaborations with acclaimed artists like Lecrae, Dolly Parton, Echosmith, and others. The band is combining some of those remixes—and some brand new ones)—to bring us Burn The Ships (Deluxe Edition: Remixes & Collaborations). I'm a big fan of for KING & COUNTRY, so I'm excited to listen to this new collection of remixes and collaborations.
NF - Clouds (The Mixtape) (3/26)
Releasing music since 2014, NF, real name Nathan Feuerstein, has become an extremely influential artist in both Christian and mainstream circles. He has impacted so many people through his music and has gained a large following. He's back with a brand new album, Clouds (The Mixtape). The upcoming release features his latest singles, "Clouds" and "Paid My Dues." The new album, slated for release on March 26, is sure to be a hit.
Blanca - Renovada EP (4/2)
Christian pop artist Blanca is no stranger to Christian music. The now solo artist was a member of the popular Christian pop/hip-hop band Group 1 Crew for about 10 years. They disbanded in 2013. Subsequently, Blanca dropped two albums, two EPs, and a myriad of singles on her own. Recently, the artist started releasing music in Spanish.
In 2019, she dropped Quebrantado, songs from her 2018 album, Shattered, translated into Spanish. Blanca will release Renovada EP, another collection of Spanish songs, on April 2. I don't know much Spanish, but it's amazing how Blanca has been able to reach out to those who do.
NEEDTOBREATHE - Live From The Woods Vol. 2 (4/16)
Last year, I listened to a lot of alt-rock music when I was stuck in quarantine. When I heard NEEDTOBREATHE's album Out Of Body, I quickly became a fan of their music. I had their record on repeat all summer. Out Of Body seemed to be exactly what we needed after a hard year.
Now, not even a year later, NEEDTOBREATHE will record Live From the Woods, Volume 2, a sequel to their 2015 live record, Live From the Woods (the first was, quite literally, recorded live from the woods). The second volume will be recorded at The Caverns in Pelham, Tennessee. The new album's tracklist hasn't been announced yet. But, I'm sure we can expect some of our favorites from Out Of Body to be featured.
Tim Timmons - Here (4/16)
Tim Timmons is a singer/songwriter, worship leader, and founder of the nonprofit and a weekly blog called 10,000 MINUTES. In 2008, he released his debut album The Grateful, and since then, he has released four other full-length records.
His last full-length release, Who I Am, is a children's album that dropped in 2017. Now, he's back with his brand new album, Here. We don't have much information about this new project yet, but it's slated to release on April 16. Tim has been releasing a lot of singles lately. So, I'm sure we can expect some of those songs to be included on the album. Keep an eye out on NewReleaseToday for all the latest information on Here.
Lincoln Brewster - Perfect Love (4/30)
Even if you don't follow Christian music, you've probably heard of Lincoln Brewster. Since the 1990s, Lincoln has been a popular guitarist (You can even buy a Lincoln Brewster Fender Stratocaster guitar). But, more than anything, he's a talented worship artist. He's a worship leader at Bayside Church in Granite Bay, California, and has consistently been releasing worship music for a long time. Last year, he released a "Who Am I," a single that'll be featured on his new album, Perfect Love. The eleven-track album is dropping on April 30, and you won't want to miss out on it.
Mat Kearney - January Flower (5/21)
The first song I ever heard from Mat Kearney was "Ships in the Night," from his 2011 album, Young Love. The single gained a lot of attention from alternative radio stations. This May, he's releasing January Flower. Here's the story behind the new album: He decided to record some new music in an off-the-grid house near Joshua Tree National Park in California. And, as he was unpacking, a massive storm rolled in. The power went out, and Mat started writing songs by the light of a wood-burning stove. That's the story behind Mat's latest single, "Powerless." The singles that he has released so far are great, and I'm excited to listen to the rest of the album when it drops in May.
Grace Chaves has been a fan of all things Christian music since 2016. She is one of NRT's youngest writers. Homeschooled, Grace is an author, loves Jesus, concerts, and road trips.
