Today Is The Day by Lincoln Today Is The Day by Lincoln
OK...now before others shoot me, let me say that I love Lincoln Brewster, and I cannot count how many of his songs I lead in church. Unfortunately, this album was not what I was expecting or hoping for....

3rd verse same as the first--actually not as good | Posted October-19-2007
Is it just me, or is Smitty losing his touch. Every track seems to enter into the christmas hymn realm without the familiarity and endearing qualities. I sure hope he can return to his 90's roots--back when his music had depth and creativity. If you like standard fare, albeit a bit corny, new Christmas tunes, you may enjoy this, but everyone else will probably find this one disappointing.

Standard SCC Fare, and that is good thing | Posted October-19-2007
Upon listening to another quality recording of SCC, it is obvious that he has maintained his relevence and effectiveness in his music ministry. While listening to each track, from the solid performances in Miracle of the Moment, Yours, and Broken, one can imagine any of these tracks could have been found on earlier SCC albums--updated background instrumentation, same great sound and content. While there are a few tracks that I feel fall slightly flat (Cinderella, You are Being Loved), the album presents one of Chapman's greatest recordings to date: My Surrender. If you have been a fan of Steven Curtis Chapman for years like me, you will not be disappointed--if you are new to SCC, you may find the album to have a few skipable tracks, but all will speak the word of God and touch your heart.
