Go Get It by Mary Mary Go Get It by Mary Mary
After listening to this album, I realized it is essentially composed of songs Mary Mary has previous released but the versions here appear to have a different mix. The first part of the album left me a...
For You From You by Dan For You From You by Dan
This release is very worshipful throughout and entirely focused on God and our response to and wonder of Him. Dan has a unique voice that is pleasant to listen to, and the lyrics for this album are very...
The Listening EP by Dan The Listening EP by Dan
A short EP of works from Dan featuring 3 songs in total with the 4th track being a radio edit. I honestly didn't feel that any of the songs on this release really grabbed me or made me want to re-listen...

Michael W. Smith Project (Re-Release) | Posted November-15-2011
This release brings back many memories of listening to Christian music played on radio in the late 1980's, when there really weren't many CCM artists to choose from (at least compared to now). I'm sure this release would sound a litle dated to some, but to me it is still an amazing album and always gets me signing along.

Come To The Well | Posted November-14-2011
Well done overall! At moments, certain tracks from this release reminded me a lot of the bands first two albums with their ability to bring you into a deeper place of introspection and analysis into our motives and actions toward others. Praying that many will be ministered to through this release and the bands ongoing ministry.

Until The Whole World Hears LIVE DVD/CD | Posted November-14-2011
Following the pattern the band has followed since the beginning (studio release followed by live CD/DVD release), I think this set is by far the bands best live release. This is the first live release where I really felt the volume of music presented was substantial. This live release also has a little stronger rock edge than many of the bands studio releases, due in large part to the way the guitars are recorded and mixed. This might be a great element for those who would enjoy that element. Not being a big fan of live albums, this is the one live release from the band that I chose to keep for my own collection after listening to it.

Pretty good overall. I feel like the band has lot a little of the raw lyrical elements that marked their first two releases and in some ways have moved into more of a comfortable place in their musical career. Casting Crowns music is played very heavily on CCM radio so it's hard to say how i would rate this album if I wasn't so familiar with some of the songs. I think this is a good album and love the bands focus on Christ, but have to also agree that I miss some of the amazingly poetic and thought provoking lyrics that marked the bands early career.

Peace On Earth | Posted November-14-2011
The bands only Christmas release at this point in time, this album is composed mostly of standard Christmas songs. My favorite track however is an original piece titled "While You Were Sleeping". With so many Christmas albums focusing on weather elements or Santa, it's great to have a release like "Peace on Earth" that is worshipful and Christ focused throughout.

The Altar And The Door Live CD/DVD | Posted November-14-2011
Continuing in the pattern the band has followed from the beginning (studio release - followed by live CD & DVD album), this 2-disc set features 8 songs performed live from the bands "The Altar and the Door" album. This release featured the most songs yet of any of the bands live CD/DVD sets. The songs are performed, recorded and produced well and will be a good release for anyone who enjoys live music or as a memory of the bands performace.

Yet another great release from Casting Crowns. It's great to have a band that is upfront, straightforward and direct in their focus on Christ and their musical mission. This release initially didn't attract me as much as the bands first two releases, but the songs have grown on me over time and are as engaging and thought provoking as always.

Lifesong Live | Posted November-14-2011
Overall I am not a huge fan of live albums. Featuring live performances from the band's second release this set includes both a CD and a DVD. The performances presented are pretty good and the band is Christ focused and engaging as always. I wished that the number of tracks would have been a little larger, but realize that the concert probably featured songs from the bands first and second releases, but just the songs that corresponded to the second release were featured here.

Live From Atlanta | Posted November-14-2011
Overall I'm not usually a big fan of live albums. From much of my experience, live albums often show the weakness of many artists and show how much of the quality of their music is usually due to studio art rather than pure raw vocal and musical talent. With that said, I really enjoyed this release and thought that Casting Crowns does a great job in concert and presents their music very well and showcases their strength as musicians. This dual disc set features a CD of 6 songs performed live (5 from the bands first album along with one bonus track). The second disc is a DVD featuring live footage of those songs being performed. My only gripe is that I wish more tracks were offered.
