This is the album where the genius of John Reuben really comes out.  His witty lyrics, fun urban hip hop beats, and more mature songs collide and make a really supurb album that anyone could get into.

John Reuben's debut album delievers a fun listen from start to finish.  His urban style makes every song fun and worth it to sing along to.  John's youthful energy is also very prevalent on this album and is another part of what makes it fun to listen to.  This is a good starting point for John Reuben fans.

Glory marks a turning point in Manafest's career as the album which made him famous among the christian rock and hip hop community and it's not hard to see why.  Everything that was present on his debut, Epiphany, sounds more mastered and cleaner.  This includes the rock and hip hop fusion, which is the best thing about this album.  Some great songs are present here like the excellent "Impossible," "Bounce," and "Retro Love."  If you like Manafest and still don't have this album, what are you waiting for?  Go get it ASAP.  If you're looking for something different in either rock or hip hop, give this album a listen.

This is the album that started the Manafest phenomenon that would only get bigger with each passing album.  It's a good first effort but gets overshadowed by the other albums in his discography.  This album is not bad.  It's worth a listen to see the humble beginnings of the signature fusion of rock and hip hop.

What amazes me about the new Number One Gun album is the fact that everything you hear was written and recorded by one person, and what a telented person he is.  Every song shows creativity and art that makes the whole album a really engaging listen from start to finish.  Jeff's cover of Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" is really spectacular and really should have been left on the album instead of coming under fire for "content issues."

To The Secrets And Knowledge is an excellent continuation of the new one-man Number One Gun.  It showcases incredible songwriting and production skills that rival even the most elite of producers in music today.

Swimming With Dolphins comes to us from a former member of Owl City's early days, Austin Tofte.  His label debut does strike up some similarites to Owl City but still maintains a sense of freshness.  It's a fun album to listen to if you are any at all interested in what the other half of Owl City has been up to.

August Burns Red returns with their new album, Leveler, and it delivers everything you would expect from an ABR album and more.  The things you would expect from these guys are excellent breakdowns, well-placed tempo and key changes, and well written lyrics.  The "and more" includes something I don't think I've ever heard in a metal album yet, salsa music.  I'm dead serious.  During one song, you're listening to a traditional ABR song and suddenly it changes into a salsa instrumental for about 10 seconds before switching back to metal.  This happens twice in the same song .

Leveler is another excellent album by August Burns Red and proves that more ABR is always welcome even if it doesn't really change musically that much.

2011 seems to be the year of the comebacks.  Blindside came back and delivered a solid album and now Falling Up returns from the ashes, fully independent, and turns in an hour of beautifully written and produced music that will stick with you long after the album stops playing.  Jesse Ribordy's lyrical poetry is still evident and really engaging to listen to.  Musically, it's still in the style of Fangs but that shouldn't hinder the ears of fans.  This is an album that needs to be fully experienced because no other words can fully describe the creativity and originality of what is presented.  This is Falling Up's magnum opus and I can't wait to see what they come up with next.

Those Swedish boys are back and at it again.  Four years after what many Blindside fans consider to be their worst album, Blindside makes a memoriable comeback and manages not only to please those fans, but draw in new listeners as well in what is probably one of the best albums of the year.  Every song is written to be catchy, fun, and unforgettable with most of the tracks highlighting their signature hardcore punk sound.  The last track even manages to throw in a genre curveball as one minute you're listening to a rock song and the next you're listening to a funky dance/techno beat that closes the album.  Little things like that make this new Blindside record one of the best of the year.

Meridional could be seen as a return to form for Norma Jean by longtime fans of the band and I can see why.  It does reflect a hint of nostalgia yet it still maintains the heavy sound from their last album, The Anit Mother.  The lyrics are supurb and screamed in excellent form by Corey Putman.  Every track manages to hook you in with its amazing musical tenacity.  This is Norma Jean's best album yet and is a definite must buy for any metalcore fan.
