Go Get It by Mary Mary Go Get It by Mary Mary
After listening to this album, I realized it is essentially composed of songs Mary Mary has previous released but the versions here appear to have a different mix. The first part of the album left me a...
For You From You by Dan For You From You by Dan
This release is very worshipful throughout and entirely focused on God and our response to and wonder of Him. Dan has a unique voice that is pleasant to listen to, and the lyrics for this album are very...
The Listening EP by Dan The Listening EP by Dan
A short EP of works from Dan featuring 3 songs in total with the 4th track being a radio edit. I honestly didn't feel that any of the songs on this release really grabbed me or made me want to re-listen...

Great collection for this era of the band | Posted May-20-2011
A great release for anyone who wants a "Greatest Hits" compilation of the bands early works. The bands early sound had more of a traditional and sometimes "Southern Gospel" feel than many of their modern albums, so this would be a great album to pick up for anyone who wants a compilation of the bands hits in this style.

Great Once Again | Posted May-20-2011
It is truly amazing how consistent a band can be release after release. Newsong in so many ways fits that description. They consistently release high quality collections of songs that are beautifully crafted, recorded, performed and Christ centered. This album does not dissapoint and is another must have from this band for anyone who enjoys good music.

Very Well Done! | Posted May-20-2011
This album has a beautiful blend of catchy worship songs that blend many unique elements. At times I sensed a little bit of a Southern Gospel feel, at others a heavy funk rhythm, at others more of a pop rock sound. The quality of the recordings and constant focus on worship and glorifying Christ make this a great release for Newsong.

Great Greatest Hits Collection | Posted May-20-2011
This is a great collection of Newsong's top songs mixed with three new songs"Can't Keep a Good Man Down," "Jesus to the World" and "Like Minded, Like Hearted". Out of the greatest hits releases from the band I preferred this one overall but thought "The Very Best of Newsong" blended well with this release as it covers songs from a different era of the band.

Ok | Posted May-20-2011

Not my favorite release from Newsong, but I felt that it was good overall and had some songs that caught my attention...in particular "Defining Moment" and "Wide Open". As always I really appreciated the focus on Christ and introspective lyrics.

Good but not the best | Posted May-19-2011
On first listen, I thought this Christmas CD was pretty good overall, but not quite as good as the bands "The Christmas Hope" release. I got lost and a litlte disinterested at the "Rocking around the Christmas Tree" and "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" tracks, then got interested again once they were over. I guess those two seem kind of odd when compared to the worshipful Christ centered focus of the others. They were probably added as general fun songs to do for the band, but I thought they kind of stuck out in a strange way.

Excellent | Posted May-19-2011

Newsong is really an amazing vocal group and this release doesn't dissapoint in that category. The songs are varied, engaging and worshipful. I really enjoyed "When God Made You" and hearing their version of Keith Green's classic "When Love Broke Through". "You are My King" was also exceptional!

There are Better... | Posted May-19-2011
This definitely wouldn't be my recommendation for anyone who was interested in getting a "greatest hits" compilation from the band. This release is really more of a "bargain bin" release that only offers up 8 songs (as opposed to say the bands "Arise My Love" greatest hits compilation which features 16 songs).

Good overview of a 5 year span | Posted May-19-2011
Its difficult in many ways to pick the "best of" Newsong's "best of" albums. This release features 10 songs, whereas the "Arise My Love" offers 16. "The good thing is that there isn't much duplication between the two releases, so they don't necessarily cancel each other out making one obsolete. This collection seems to focus more on material released "after" the "Arise My Love" album came out, so it would be a great addition to that album for the top songs from that point forward.

Quiet and Worshipful | Posted May-19-2011
My first impression upon listening to this live album is that it sounded a little flat in the way it was recorded and mixed. I found myself wanting to fiddle with IQ settings while listening to this one to help things out. The performances are pretty good, but not on par with what I would consider the bands best releases. I am admittedly not the biggest fan of "live" albums though, so I may be a little biased. I love Newsong's focus on Christ though and think this release would be great for anyone who possibly saw the band live or enjoys live performances. Compared to some of the bands other work, this release seems very quiet and worshipful overall.
