They groaned at God for the tenth time today
They're packin' up - I think I should pray
Is this "game over"? I've lost my herd
They're lookin' back and say they'll desert
But I know I'm being used
As a way for God to guide people through
I know, they're sayin' I'm mean
That's O.K. 'cause I've got no selfish dreams - no way!
When I planned to go up the mount
I stayed there too long - they all had a cow
But this defection - brought me so low
They keep this up, God just might take us home ... today!
Then they say, "Moses, we want stuff to eat!
"And we wonder why was Egypt so bad?"
Then they say, "Why'd you divide the Red Sea?
"There's no water in this horrible land!"
Well, I guess I could give up on myself
But I really think we'd better just wait
The LORD is sovereign
The LORD who chose me didn't err
Right? Yeah-heh-heh!
Now while we're late -- just a little bit
We'll have a tour through a nice wilderness
Was 80 when I -- first walked out my door
If I'm 120 then, who's keeping score?
Now I know I could stay home -- but
That's kind of hard when it's written in stone
It ain't real fun, but I've gotta lead
I'm just a shepherd with real selfish sheep
Oy vey!!!
Then they say, "Moses, we want some real meat!
"Not this wonder bread He leaves on the land"
Then He sent - quail, but they died from disease
Then my brother wanted more than was planned
And my sis tried to sneak up for herself
But God really thinks it's better this way
The LORD is sovereign
The LORD, He knows what's really fair
