The Listening is the latest musical interation of Gabriel Wilson & Co., formerly known as The Rock'n'Roll Worship Circus. Hailing from the sleepy mill-town of Longview, Washington, The Listening is composed of members Gabriel Wilson (vocals, guitars), Chris Greely (guitars, vocals), Eric Lemiere (drums, vocals, keys), and Josiah Sherman (moog synths, key bass, rhodes, samples, keys).
Giving a hint of things to come, Rock'n'Roll Worship Circus released what would be their final project in 2004; an EP titled The Listening. Shortly thereafter R'n'RWC dissolved and re-emerged as The Listening with the independent release of their full length debut in 2005; the self-referentially titled The Rock'n'Roll Worship Circus... becomes the Listening.
With a sound more reminiscent of Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Air, and Sigur Rós, the group continued to move away from the modern praise and worship sound that had defined their earlier projects. Heavy touring in Russia, Holland, Switzerland, Germany, and the UK, as well as multiple tours of the U.S. followed. Garnering positive accolades from the U.S. and European press, as well as a dedicated fanbase, The Listening continues to maintainsa rigorous touring schedule at home and abroad.
