In case you were exploring a cave when the announcement was made (or, as is more likely, you didn't keep up with B. Reith's Twitter), B. Reith is getting ready to release a mixtape. The “Comeback Kid” is offering a free download to spread the news.
NEW RHYTHMS
This week Tenth Avenue North launched a presale for the upcoming tour supporting their upcoming release,
The Struggle. Find dates and presale information on their website:
http://tenthavenuenorth.com/tickets.
@TheRocketSummer: The album release show in LA last night was so special. Made me feel so alive. Thanks! New album out now! http://twitpic.com/9ths02 (June 6)
One-man band Bryce Avary released his long-awaited independent album Life Will Write the Words this week. The album has enjoyed an extremely enthusiastic reception on and off the road.
Hardcore band For Today released their album this week, achieving significant success on the Billboard charts--
Immortal ranked No. 1 in hard rock, No. 1 in Christian, and No. 15 overall. Click the link on the interview to learn more about the thought processes and stories behind the album. And you can also read my review of
Immortal here.
@WTDBand: It's Johnny's Birthday! Go out and buy yourself a copy of the new album this week to celebrate! haha (June 7)
If you want to help a lead singer celebrate his birthday plus feed him for a little while... hard rock band Write This Down's new album Lost Weekend is available now, online and in stores.
@Capital_Lights: Our new album #RhythmN'Moves comes out July 17th! Who's excited?! (June 7)
Punk rockers Capital Lights are finally back for more after four years out of the spotlight. Their sophomore Tooth & Nail release will be available next month.
OVERHEARD
Apparently there was a cynic loose in the hotel rooms of some of the Casting Crowns' members this week. The mysterious vandal does, however, win points for honesty.
@jamiegraceh: "I found plums that my mom froze back in 1977..." #conversationsicanthelpbutoverhearintheaiport (June 9)
Unfortunately, Jamie Grace doesn't seem to have overheard whether the plums were still good to eat. You never know.
@matkearney: Guy who checked my bag was a Mat with one "t". He said his parents did it on purpose. Only have met 3 one "t" Mats. (June 10)
Mat Kearney had a rare opportunity to connect with someone else who most likely has spent an equal amount of time explaining his name to people. Maybe airport security experiences aren't all bad.
NOTES TO SELF
@LOWBROWBASS: Note to self. Put a lid on the blender before you blend. #ivemadeamessofme (June 7)
RED bass player Randy Armstrong shared some life advice and a song reference all in one neat tweet. If only he'd included a picture as well for a visual aid...
@satsandsirens: #ThisCouldWork: Skillet and Skrillex should become one band and call it "Skrillet" (June 9)
Depending on how you feel about dubstep, this could either be the most fantastic or the most disastrous collaboration in history.
