Even when artists have been on the road for quite a while, there can still be moments where they get a little bit lost. This week on Twitter several artists seemed to have this problem, while others were commenting on the sights they were seeing, the releases they’re hearing, and the general buzz of life as usual.
As always, if you'd like to keep tabs on over 1,200 Christian artists, check out our exclusive NRTwitter page to read the latest tweets from the Christian music community. And if you've discovered some great tweets of your own, feel free to pass them along by using the hashtag #nrtweets.
ON THE RADIO AND IN STORES
@plumb_artist: The new single 'Drifting' goes officially for adds Friday. So download it, ask for it, tattoo it to your arm. Dance mixes coming soon also! (September 21)
The collaboration between Plumb and Dan Haseltine of Jars Of Clay is gaining speed as it hits the radio. We’ll be seeing more mixes of it in the future... and maybe some tattoos.
@jonforeman: My thoughts on #ViceVerses : huffingtonpost.com/jon-foreman/vi… RT (September 23)
As Switchfoot gears up to release
Vice Verses, lead singer Jon Foreman employs his writing abilities to give us a glimpse into the heart behind the album (and the rest of Switchfoot’s discography).
@weareohsleeper: In 3 days our new album will be in stores, in 7 days we will play a show for $1 in Dallas and in 33 days the child of fire tour starts! (September 24)
Hardcore band Oh, Sleeper has already released the digital album
Children of Fire, and the physical album will be available this upcoming week.
GEOGRAPHY
@RemedyDrive: yesterday's new video monday: blood on the piano. check it out on our youtube. (September 20)
@RemedyDrive: my favorite comment on our most recent video: "Well that was a terrible video to watch whilst eating cherry jello." (September 21)
Remedy Drive shared a video of some of David Zach’s hardcore stage antics, bringing a new meaning to the phrase “blood, sweat, and tears.”
Check their YouTube to watch it here (though apparently, you shouldn’t click if you happen to be eating cherry jello).
@superchicktrish: Landed in Portland, maine..driving to our show. Some states it seems kind of fitting when it rains. It's dreary in a black& white way.. (September 22)
Some cities seem to have a certain personality. Portland provided the mood for Superchick this week.
@NEEDTOBREATHE: Getting to the point on tour now where there is no amount of febreze that will redeem the smell of my clothes. #uglytruthofroadlife #fb (September 23)
Most recent item on the list of “why touring isn’t always glamorous...”
@jeremymriddle: So far the site seeing in Australia has been off the charts. I've seen some of the most exquisite green rooms. #thrilling (September 24)
Worship leader Jeremy Riddle is enjoying his time touring abroad, but his sightseeing adventures seem to be unfortunately limited to the inside of venues. This is definitely an unusual tourist technique.
@joshwilson: #ThatAwkwardMoment when someone brings a photo to a show from the last time I was there & I'm wearing the same thing. #SmallWardrobe (September 24)
At the very least, Josh Wilson has achieved consistency.
@disciplerocks: So sorry about Kevin calling you Pennsylvania so much today, Virginia. (September 24)
Keeping track of location while touring can sometimes be the most challenging aspect of any night’s performance.
@jonsteingard: It's never a very good sign when you hear the bus driver yell, "Where are we, EUROPE?!" (September 24)
This is one of those situations where roadsigns prove their invaluable helpfulness.
PARENT’S PERSPECTIVE
@francescamusic: Eli's first (robot themed!) birthday party was a success! Thanks to everyone who came and for all the help from f instagr.am/p/OEiSt/ (September 24)
Francesca Battistelli’s son celebrated his first birthday. It looks like it was a success. He is now “00000001” years old, which of course, is binary robot language for “one.”
@christomlin: Lauren and I introduce you to our baby girl...Ashlyn Alexandra Tomlin She's a dream! lockerz.com/s/141622645 (September 24)
Chris Tomlin and his wife, Lauren, welcomed their first child this week.
@NoeleTweets: You know it's bad when your 2-year old points across the parking lot and says, "look, mommy! Starbucks!" #caffeineaddiction (September 24)
The habits of sustained touring eventually start rubbing off, as Noele of Reilly discovered.
@jonnydiaz: I can't afford a vanity license plate, so I'll just name my first born LRP-20W (September 24)
This tweet raises some interesting questions about what kind of nicknames this child would be called on the playground...
