TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS
@anberlin: AMERICA. In case you don't have it already, get our live album & DVD from @iTunesMusic. Check it: on.fb.me/n46lGh. -NY (July 6)
This week Anberlin released their first full live DVD, exclusively through iTunes. The recording is in two parts: a live CD with a full recording of a set in Anaheim, Calif. last fall, and the video portion, which includes some live videos interspersed with interviews.
@ChapStique: Leaving vacation early 4 a photo shoot is a bummer. Not eating delicious sweets on vacation due 2 the upcoming shoot is the REAL bummer. (July 6)
Family Force 5 is still hard at work preparing for their third album. Guitarist Chap Stique demonstrated an impressive amount of dedication to the photo shoot.
@redmusiconline: [VIDEO PREMIERE] The Brand New Music Video for "Lie To Me" is now live at www.noisecreep.com. (July 7)
RED released yet another music video this week. “Lie to Me” was filmed at the same time as their impressive post-apocalyptic “Feed the Machine” video. “Lie to Me” focuses more on the band's performance. (You can see the video
here.)
@alanpowell10: If any of you are interested...the is an anthem lights app now. Kinda crazy but true...check it (July 8)
The boy band-leaning Anthem Lights joined the ranks of bands that have been releasing iPhone apps.
@DaraMaclean: My Mom really is my biggest cheerleader, she just told me that this am she gave the mailman a poster & a CD! Ha, so funny...Love u Mumsie #FB (July 8)
Dara Maclean released her debut album
You Got My Attention this week. It looks like she has a pretty dedicated street team.
ADVENTURE BACKSTAGE
@JenLedger: twitpic.com/5m38fl this was us waiting for the U2 show last night.... was ahh-maaayy-zing!:) (July 6)
Skillet was one of the few bands not represented at the U2 show in Nashville last week, but they made up for it by attending the tour in Chicago. There are several more pictures of their evening on @koreycooper's Twitter page.
@JosephMilligan: Whelp, got hit by my own guitar and missed our encore ha! yfrog.com/kes5txj (July 7)
@JosephMilligan: Thanks! I am doing just fine aside from not knowing who I am or who these guys are that keep saying we are in a band or something (July 8)
Anberlin has been touring Europe, and guitarist Joseph Milligan will be taking home an impressive scar as a souvenir (let's hope he remembers where it came from).
@rebeccabarlow: Help! We're locked out of the venue, were back stage. Someone open the door! Please. (July 8)
Maybe sometimes security at shows is a little too tight... though as a side note, this definitely proves yet another use for social media.
@BartMillard: First time we've not played "I Can Only Imagine" in 11 years. Had to cut the show short due to weather. So sorry Colorado. God is good! #mm
@BartMillard: Very strange not singing "Imagine." I felt like I left a child behind. #mm (July 9)
Unpredictable weather at outdoor summer events can result in a lot of sets cut short. Which, in this case, resulted in MercyMe performing a set without playing one of the best-known songs in Christian music history.
AIRPORTS AND AIRPLANES
@thejasondunn: I feel like @brianheadwelch is the kind of guy that gets "randomly selected" for additional screening at airports ALL the time! #ssss (July 9)
If you've ever seen pictures of the Korn guitarist-turned Christian rocker, you'll understand why Hawk Nelson's lead singer would make this assumption.
@timmyrjones: 6 planes in less than than 36 hours. one flight only took 20 minutes. i didn't know that even existed. (July 9)
Remedy Drive's travel plans are exhausting to read about. They seem to have an incredible talent for making multiple connections in a row.
@matthammitt: Check out this airport. The hangar behind it is not attached. http://twitpic.com/5n4s7d (July 8)
Matt Hammitt stopped by an incredibly small airport in Kansas this week. At least he probably didn't have much trouble finding his bags.
@davelux: I can't imagine what life would be like if all restaurants charged as if they were in the airport. (July 8)
Dave of Kutless lamented one of the most unfortunate things about airport travel. Of course the good news is that prices fall dramatically as soon as you step outside the airport.
SUNGLASSES AND SHUTTLE LAUNCHES
@6stringhero: No disguising the "I dropped my only pick and I can't see it" look (July 7)
The extremely specific nature of this tweet would imply that the Casting Crowns guitarist has been in this situation more than once.
@b_reith: I got my Don Johnson 2nite & drove a boat. Get a good look at those shades, lost em in the lake 10 min later. http://twitpic.com/5nb0io (July 8)
There are some definite dangers associated with summer adventures. B. Reith lost some extremely classy shades, but at least he immortalized them in a final picture beforehand.
@mattmahermusic: "The Princess Bride" is on tv. Basically, wesley's "ponytail" was his mullet in an elastic band. FAKERY (July 8)
Matt Maher provided his own unique commentary on the classic movie as he watched it, specifically pointing out the way that the 80s seemed to influence the hero's hairstyle...
@francescamusic: Love that I'm in Orlando on the day of the last shuttle launch. Watched countless launches from my parents' front door over 15 yrs. #fb (July 8)
Floridian Francesca Battistelli had a unique vantage point for the historic final shuttle launch before NASA's shuttle program is shut down. The launch was a particularly nostalgic event for her.
@mikedonehey: Something in us longs for justice. Something in us begs for grace. Only at the cross are both preserved & perfectly displayed. (July 5)
Mike Donehey, frontman for Tenth Avenue North, tends to have some of the most thought-provoking tweets. This week was no exception.
