When I sat down with Bodie, what immediately stood out wasn’t just his energy—it was the feeling that he’s entering a pivotal season. His latest music doesn’t follow a strict formula, and that’s the whole point. It reflects genuine moments of growth, tension, and faith, capturing what it means to walk with God through both the highs and lows.
In our conversation, Bodie shares how this project came together unexpectedly, why it marks a turning point in his artistry, and what’s next as he continues to create some of his most personal and impactful music yet.
Your music has been impacting people in a real and personal way. What inspired that direction for you?
It’s been something God has been putting on my heart for a long time. Ever since I first started playing music, I fell in love with the idea of creating something that brings people together and exposes them to different sounds and perspectives.
I’ve always wondered what that could look like in the Christian space—especially in the alternative or more unconventional space. It’s been done before, but I really wanted to do it in my own way. And this season just felt like the right time. God made that clear, and I’m really excited about it.
Let’s talk about your album, No Skips. What’s the heart behind that project?
Honestly, it kind of came together unexpectedly. It was a collection of singles, and I didn’t even realize I was making an album while I was working on it.
Looking back now—especially as I’m already working on my next project—I can see how pivotal that season was for me as an artist. Sonically, the album is all over the place. There are ballads, rock elements, and even more rap-influenced tracks.
But that’s what makes it special to me. It really captures different moments in a person’s walk with God—from the mountaintops to the harder, more challenging seasons. It reflects growth, change, and learning, both musically and spiritually.
It really does feel like a journey. How do you see that project shaping what’s next for you?
I think it set the foundation for everything moving forward. It helped me grow and experiment, and now I feel more confident stepping into what’s next. I’m already working on new music—some of the best I’ve ever created. And I’m excited to share it. There’s going to be a lot more content and just a lot of cool things coming soon.
That’s exciting. What can fans expect from this next season of music?
More music—lots of it. I’m about to start announcing new songs soon, and I truly believe this is some of the strongest work I’ve done so far. It’s just going to be a season of creating, releasing, and continuing to grow. I’m really looking forward to letting people hear what’s coming.
Last question—how can people be praying for you right now?
I’d say a prayer for clarity and humility. Just that I would always remember that I’m nothing without the Lord—that everything comes from Him. And on a practical level, prayer for my voice. I’ve been dealing with some vocal health issues, and it’s been a little concerning. So that’s something I’d really appreciate prayer for.
We’ll be praying for you. Thanks for taking the time to share your heart with us.
Thank you—I really appreciate it.
