Music has a way of inviting us into something deeper—beyond melodies and lyrics, into moments of reflection and truth. For emerging Christian band Strings and Heart, that invitation is at the center of their album Plastic Wine. What began as a simple moment during communion became a powerful reminder that faith isn’t meant to be lived on autopilot. It’s meant to be experienced with intention, reverence, and depth.

In this conversation, Strings and Heart shares how God used an ordinary church setting to spark an extraordinary message—one that now echoes throughout their music. They reflect on the importance of authenticity, the calling to reach the next generation, and the ways they’re continuing to grow creatively and spiritually. As they step into a new season with fresh music, their prayer remains the same: to follow where God leads with strength, discernment, and a heart fully surrendered.

You released one of the best albums of 2025, Plastic Wine. It’s incredible from start to finish. What’s the heart behind that album, especially the title?

For that album—when the idea and the title came together—we were at church. Our pastor was giving a sermon, and we do communion about once a month. He noticed the congregation was kind of just going through the motions.

Before we took communion, he paused and said, “Hey, before we continue, let’s realize what we’re doing is powerful. It’s intentional. It’s spiritual. It’s beautiful.” He reminded us that when Jesus shared that moment with His disciples, it was deeply meaningful.

When he said that, it hit me: how many things in my life are like that little plastic communion cup—things I’m just taking at face value without stepping into something deeper?

So, for the album, Plastic Wine is really an invitation to go deeper with the Lord.

That message really comes through in your music—it connects with the next generation and carries a passion for Jesus. Why is that so important to you?

I think for us, it’s always been about authenticity—being authentic lyrically and sonically. We’re not trying to fit into a box or please expectations. It’s just about being true to who we are. And it’s been really cool to see it connect with a few people.

You recently released your new single, “I Love You Anyway.” What can you tell us about that song and what’s coming next?

We’re super stoked about this one. It’s the first single from a new record we’ve been working on.

We’re exploring our sound more—kind of pushing things a bit while still staying true to who we are. We’re drawing on different musical influences and putting them into both the sound and the lyrics.

I think we’ve just grown a lot through the process of writing and making music, and we’re continuing to learn and explore new things. I’m really excited for what’s coming next.

Last question—how can people be praying for you guys in this season?

I’d say strength and discernment. Not every open door is one you’re supposed to walk through. We want to make sure God is going before us in everything, and discernment is a huge part of that.
