Previously known as "Sean BE," former "Next Gen" pastor, Sean Rodriguez and his family took a leap of faith by moving to Nashville, Tennessee, where he has been called to create great Christ-centered music that will continue his mission to inspire hope in the next generation as they find their way toward a future in God.

Jesus Will is the highly anticipated debut EP from Sean Rodriguez, following his catchy song, “Center Stage.”

Sean's music career took off in 2023 when he became a featured artist on the popular Christian music tour, Winter Jam. His message focuses on God's purpose for each person and aims to inspire others to follow the path God has planned for them. I interviewed Sean about his song “Jesus Will.”

Please tell me the personal story behind this song.

Moments can rock and shape us. That time came in late November 2023 when my Aunt Sirena suddenly died. She gave her life to serving God and being an example of His love—it just wasn't fair.

The line "When we can't battle, Jesus will" can change it all for so many going through anything at any time.

“Jesus Will” hopefully encourages each listener that even when it seems like there is “no end” to life’s most difficult circumstances, God is still with you.

Which Bible verses connect to the message of the song?

Luke 4:20-21 (VOICE): "Jesus rolled up the scroll and returned it to the synagogue attendant. Then He sat down, as a teacher would do, and all in the synagogue focused their attention on Jesus, waiting for Him to speak. He told them that these words from the Hebrew Scriptures were being fulfilled then and there, in their hearing."

Psalm 23:4 (VOICE): "Even in the unending shadows of death's darkness, I am not overcome by fear. Because You are with me in those dark moments, near with Your protection and guidance, I am comforted."

Psalm 30:11-12 (VOICE): "You did it: You turned my deepest pains into joyful dancing; You stripped off my dark clothing and covered me with joyful light. You have restored my honor. My heart is ready to explode, erupt in new songs! It's impossible to keep quiet! Eternal One, my God, my Life-Giver, I will thank You forever."

Ephesians 2:1 (NKJV): "And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins."

Ephesians 2:6 (NIV): "And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus."

2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV): "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV): "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV): But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

What is the takeaway message?

“Jesus Will” is all about hope in God's promises. This song carries a message of God’s victory, not ours. Not only does God fight for us, but He calls us to rise from the destruction of our past and step into the new life He has prepared for us.

The joy of being a new creation in Christ is found in the forgiveness we receive from our past mistakes and faults, and understanding that they are completely removed in God's eyes. The enemy has no hold over us, and that is ultimate freedom.

Lyrics

When life takes a turn, you never could have planned
You’re broken, like no one can understand
You can’t wish it all away
You see no end to all this pain
And life’s never gonna be the same again

Even now
God is in it still
When you can’t battle
Jesus will
There’s no life that He can’t use
There’s no loss. He can't shine through
When you can't carry
The weight of all you feel
Jesus will

You've felt hurt, you never thought you could know
Now you’ve got stories you never thought you would’ve told
But He is near the broken-hearted
He will finish what he promised
When there’s chaos all around, he’s in control

Even now
God is in it still
When you can’t battle
Jesus will
There’s no life that He can’t use
There’s no loss. He can't shine through
When you can't carry
The weight of all you feel
Jesus will

You can’t go back
You don’t know how to move on
But you’re still here, and He’s still God
The story isn’t done.
You will bend, and you will break
But you will rise in Jesus name
Cause right here and right now, He is working all things out

Even now
God is in it still
When you can’t fight the fight you're in
Jesus will
There’s no life that He can’t use
There’s no loss He can't shine through
When you can't carry
The weight of all you feel
Jesus will

Closing Thoughts

“Jesus Will” is a familiar cry for many who have been hurt by life in ways they can’t understand. This song resonates with listeners as it helps answer some of life’s toughest moments: “When you can’t carry the weight of all you feel/Jesus’ will.”

This song conveys a message of salvation and encourages reflection on the extent of Jesus' endurance for His bride to redeem us from the grave. I hold onto all the promises in the song and lift my eyes to Him, bursting in praise.

Most importantly, it must be remembered that God is the source of all hope, and it doesn't come from anything people do. Belief is needed. This song serves as a beautiful reminder to believers that being a Christian means they walk by faith, not by sight.

Faith asks people to trust in what cannot be seen. Everyone lives by faith each day. The beauty of walking by faith rather than by sight is that it helps people trust God more deeply in their lives.

The key, as followers of Jesus, is to walk by faith and to stay guided in their daily walk through prayer and God's infallible Word, the Bible.

Doubts and struggles can be laid at the feet of Jesus, and He will take them and free people from those burdens. God wants to hear from them.

Christians are called to believe in the freedom they have through the cross of Jesus. They are free from addictions, insecurities, and perfectionism. One lesson learned about life is that people shouldn't wait to fix themselves before stepping out in faith. Ways can be sought to obey God and offer faith to Him.

All that is needed is faith, and God will reveal what He has planned. He is the author of lives and knows what is best, much better than people do.

You will be blessed by this empowering song, which is a standout anthem with a convicting declaration: “There’s no loss He can't shine through/When you can't carry/The weight of all you feel/Jesus will.” Amen to that.
